Snowflake Sentiments

Posted on

This month I’ve challenged myself to obtaining a little “extra mileage” from my Christmas stamp sets so with this in mind I’ve chosen the Snowflake Sentiments Stamp Sets to create a couple of non-Christmas cards.  Doesn’t the new Soft Sea Foam work gloriously with the Melon Mambo?

The Snowflakes Sentiments Stamp Set can be found on page 100 of the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog, with the coordinating Swirly Snowflakes Thinlets being on page 220. The flowers I made from that one large thinlet, as evidenced by the pink I’ve yet to remove… oops!

The sentiment for the With Sympathy card came from the Better Together Stamp Set (which I used also last week), whilst the sentiment for the other card came from the Flourishing Phrases Stamp Set on page 18 of the Annual Catalog.

And don’t forget the wonderful promotion currently on of Buy 3 DSP, Get 1 FREE – the perfect time to begin preparing for all the Christmas cards you want to make this year!

Star of Light Stamp Set

Posted on

This week I’m creating non-Christmas cards with the Star of Light Stamp Set. Without even trying, both cards seem to be almost engagement or wedding oriented. Perhaps it’s the silver heat embossing that has me thinking nuptials.

The Star of Light Stamp Set is found on page 98 of the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. This really is a fabulous stamp set with 21 beautiful photopolymer stamps.

The sentiments for both these cards are from the Better Together Stamp Set, found on page 16 of the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog. Please note this set comes in two cases, I’ve simply condensed them to the one case for my own use.

Don’t forget for the entire month of July, Stampin’ Up! have a marvelous promotion going that if you buy three packets of select DSP, you can choose a forth one for free!

Labels to Love!

Posted on

Admittedly, on wanting to get an early head-start on my Christmas cards this year, I was going to dedicate this month to Christmas in July. This then had me wondering about other uses for these stamp sets that tend to sit idly for a good part of the year.

And although I’m still making Christmas cards, I’m also now looking at how to create cards for other occasions with what is at first glance Christmas sets.

The first of my challenges is with the Labels to Love Stamp Set (page 103 2018-2019 Annual Catalog) with the matching Everyday Label (page 211 2018-2019 Annual Catalog).

The Labels to Love Stamp Set lends itself most obviously to tags but has many possibilities for beautiful simple Christmas cards as well. One thing at a time though so more about that later!

Happy belated Canada Day and Happy Independence Day – hope you’re enjoying the beginning of the summer here in the Northern Hemisphere!
