Gingham Garden Butterflies

Posted on

When I first saw today’s Mojo Challenge I knew exactly what I wanted to do. This is today’s sketch for Mojo 331.

Mojo 331 SketchOf course what I created was something completely different to what I had in mind. Not that I’m unhappy with what I achieved, it’s simply NOTHING like what I had in mind. This is it…

Mojo 331 - Gingham Butterflies - JIF

For the Decorative Dots Embossing I used White Vellum then cut a banner from the Gingham Garden DSP which was lined with some Primrose Petals Cardstock. A strip of Primrose Petals 3/8″ Stitched Satin Ribbon lies diagonally between the embossing and the cardstock.

Mojo 331 - Gingham Butterflies - Hello

The square of cardstock to go under the sentiment I chose in So Saffron then stamped in So Saffron Classic Ink with a stamp from the Sale-a-Bration You’re Lovely set. The stamp is a clean set of four little flower-like images but I stamped it randomly albeit always horizontally. The butterflies come from the Beautiful Wings Embosslits. Both the butterflies and the Hello sentiment from the Label Something Stamp Set have been edged with Dazzling Details.

Mojo 331 - Gingham Butterflies - Candy Dots

Across the top of the banner I’ve added some Tempting Turquoise Candy Dots (I thought I was adding Island Indigo but wasn’t if close, ha)just for a little something extra.

Treat yourself to a Butterfly Bundle!

Posted on

Papillon Potpourri is one of my favorite stamp sets and until the end of the month is available in a discounted bundle together with the Bitty Butterfly Punch. When in a pinch one can make a truly beautiful card with these items.

The following card took all of a five-minutes using a simple yet striking combination of Whisper White cardstock and Crumb Cake Seam Binding and Classic Ink. The sentiment from Label Something Stamp Set completes the card.

JIF - Papillon Potpourri - Crumb Cake and Whisper White

This is the bundle that’s available – if you are interested and like me to place an order for you please call me (250-632-7248).

Last minute birthday!

Posted on

Yes, there’s nothing quite like a last-minute birthday party announcement. I fear Master Eleven was in-fact advised of this event earlier in the week but decided to only advise me only the day prior, at which point he wasn’t interested so the said information was immediately released from my advice-vault. What can I say, if it doesn’t involve me I say… “catch and release“!

Anyways, that was the “day before” wasn’t it? The day of the event at 3pm it was decided he’d go for the intended start time of 6pm but only stay until 10pm at which time I would be required to collect him. Fine… one last-minute card and gift coming up… grrrr, children, grrrr 🙂 This is what eventuated and fortunately, I promised myself at the time that next month, next week, I would leave this particular DSP alone and I now I have!

Anyways… for a last-minute card I think I did okay don’t you?!

Shapes and Numbers

I tell you, I’m lovin’ this new hexagon punch, so much so I’ve now gone through the new Annual Catalog and found every matching stamp-set and ordered them… yikes! As this hexagon stamp felt a tad girlie I used another stamp and punch to cover some of the sentiment for a more masculine feel.

Shapes and Numbers - Sentiment

And for the “you” I made a letter “U” from the XL and L Oval stamps, added Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhered over the top of some of the fabulous Washi Tape which just happened to have a HEXAGON pattern on it, yea baby!
