Rainbow Banners over Gray Skies!

Posted on

Perhaps its all the rain we’re having lately but whatever the reason, I have had a set of rainbow colored cardstock sitting on my desk for over a week now but do I use them? No, instead I reached for my Classic Inks to create this fun card with the Sale-a-Bration Banner Punch!

Rainbow Banners on Grey Skies

The cute stamp in the center is also from the Sale-a-Bration range – See Ya’ Later – exactly what we’ll be saying to all the fabulous Sale-a-Bration range in a little over TWO WEEKS. 🙁

Soooo… take a moment or two to have another look through the 2014 Sale-a-Bration folder to check if there’s any other items you require from the promotion and if so, please call at your earliest convenience. With Spring Break about to descend upon us, the next two weeks are going to go so VERY quickly so best not put off until tomorrow if you are really keen on something.

Oh, and have yourself an... Inkee Fiddling Day!

You’re Lovely in Pink!

Posted on

For a Fast Friday, it’s taking me longer to write this post than it did to make the card – what’s with THAT, lol?! Sadly, it really has become one of THOSE weeks. 🙁

Plus it would seem this week I’m in a very “pink” frame of mind. Not sure why, perhaps its a Ying/Yang thing, but after last week always reaching for the Bermuda Bay, this week I’m turning to pink. And if that’s not bad enough, I’ve CASE’d a card almost as exactly AS IS. Honestly, this seldom EVER happens with me. Habit has me changing most everything without even realizing it!

Are you familiar with this term – CASEing? Copy And Share Everything! It’s very acceptable in card-making although card etiquette does ask that credit is given where credit is due. In this CASE (pardon the pun but it had to be said, lol) it was Sharon Cheng, one VERY talented lady.

Now, without further ado here is MY card, lol!

Youre Lovely in Pink!

Talk about a great way to use up your scraps as all the colored cardstock came from my scrap-stash. Even the piece of White Vellum Cardstock came from my scraps. I love how this You’re Lovely stamp from the Sale-a-Bration selection compliments the Deco Labels Collections Dies.

Also, if you’re wanting to try this card yourself, the width of my strips from left to right were – 4cm, 3.5cm, 3cm and 2.5cm. The length is at your own discretion.

CARD RECIPE
Cardstock: Whisper White, Rose Red, Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals,
Strawberry Slush, Pink Pirouette

Embossing Folder: Decorative Dots (Sale-a-Bration 2014)
Embellishments: Rhinestones Basic Jewels

With fresh snow falling outside I know I’M going to have a WONDERFULLY productive week-end – wishing you one also!

Time for a Thinlit!

Posted on

That doesn’t sound good does it? Sounds like I’m about to sneak behind the back of the tank-stand for a ciggie doesn’t it, lol? What I’m trying to say is that I’ve had my Thinlit Card Frames out today playing with the longer card lengths. These are a couple of the cards I did when I first received the Thinlits.

Card Frames - Exactly as isThese are the cards as per the Thinlits – the original cardstock size is 6¼” x 5½” – then has an inch fold just off the left-hand center line. For me, the only thing missing was somewhere to write on the card.

That was until I was shown an alternative that takes the card from still looking the same…

Card Frame - Hi - Full FrontYet when it’s opened it’s just so much bigger… yeah baby!

Card Frame - Hi - Full InsideThe right-hand side folds over on top of the other side where the DSP would normally go thus allowing an area to write a little something for the recipient. Problem solved – YEA!

Having spent what seemed like hours working on the above card as the colors are TOTALLY out of my comfort zone – So Saffron and Tangerine Tango both of which are on a sheet of the Watercolor Wonder DSP – I rewarded myself with something more familiar to me… PINK!

Card Frame - Flowers - Full FrontThe black and white of the Modern Medley DSP with the pink of the Strawberry Slush Cardstock compliment each other so very well. Plus it gave me an opportunity to test-drive a flower from both the Petite Petals Stamp Set and from the Flower Shop Stamp Set.

Both of these sets I LOVE so I’ll give you the heads-up right now – you’re going to see a LOT more of them! 🙂 Layering them and adding a rhinestone only added to this new love affair.

Card Frame - Flowers - Pretty Petitees

This is the inside of the card.

Card Frame - Flowers - Full Inside

This second card was NOTHING like I set out to achieve but the end result far exceeded anything I’d planned. Sometimes you can get lucky!

Don’t forget, there’s just over three weeks left on this year’s Sale-a-Bration so if your stocks require replenishing, now really is a good time to do it as with every $60 you spend, you get free product. Contact me now with your order!

You Make Me Happy!

Posted on

It’s Mojo Monday time and here is this week’s sketch…

Mojo 335 SketchThis is my take on the sketch. As you can see, with the countdown on until the end of Sale-a-Bration this month, I’m making the most of all the wonderful selections there are this year!

Mojo 335 - You Make me Happy - JIFThe three stripes I had created for last weeks challenge and after spending an hour this afternoon looking for just the right color, decided this was what the card needed as I didn’t really want a girlie-girl card. And of course this all had to be run through the Sale-a-Bration’s Decorative Dots Embossing Folder!

Onto the Basic Gray Cardstock I stamped with Basic Gray Classic Ink the arrow from the Petals Parade Stamp Set. I also used the semi-circle “leaf-like” stamp from this set for the Summer Starfruit Cardstock background.

Mojo 335 - Petal Parade Background - JIFThe leaves I punched in Pistachio Pudding Core’dinations from the Bird Builder Punch then did some accordion folding with a strip of the Pistachio to create the Paper Ribbon. The finishing touch was a cork flower from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Kit from which I also added a couple of the arrow pieces to the sentiment. This too is from Sale-a-Bration, the See Ya Later Stamp Set which I stamped and sponged in Summer Starfruit Classic Ink.
