Typeset Scrapbooking

Wanting to do something a little different my New Orleans pages, I used some of the Typeset DSP to create filing pages for each of the three sections I wanted to highlight. The tabs I created from a framelit from the Chalk Talk Framelits set, folding in half to create the tab look.

New Orleans Highlights in Typeset!

I just want to make a quick disclosure here stating the first four photos for our hotel came from their website as all the photos I thought I’d taken of the hotel and our room were obviously all in my mind. I could not find ONE photo, with the exception of the coffee-bar-box that I’d taken. Very odd…

So many photos, so few pages!

I’m still plodding along with my album for last year’s cruise. Oddly, when I began setting it all up week-end before last I HONESTLY thought I would be finished by now. Huh?

There were almost 3,000 photos I took on that cruise and I thought I’d been done in 12 days. The word “delusional” comes to mind, lol. 🙂 875 photos for the ten hours we were crossing the Panama Canal alone!

In the end I decided to do three double-page spreads on the crossing but I could have done an entire album. I may just do that but not until I’ve caught up on ALL my albums. Here’s my double-page on the locks.

Panama CanalThirty-four photographs in total are on this double-page spread. Some may say too many but there’s still 334 more on the locks I didn’t use!

Scrapbooking – always a love/hate relationship between it and I – the end results however are ALWAYS worth it! 🙂

Scrapbooking Process…

Everyone it seems scrapbooks in their own unique way.

The way “I” scrapbook seems so straight-forward and logical but eyes have rolled when my “lists” have been seen. Seriously, am I the ONLY person in the scrapbooking world who makes a list when making up a scrapbook, particularly a Vacation Scrapbook? I don’t think so!

Initially the MAIN pages are listed and, as is the case now with doing scrapbooks years after the vacation happened, OTHER pages are then slotted in as my memory is prompted. This is what a list of mine looks like.

North American Cruise Album List

Yep, that’s a white-board – oh how I love a good white-board!

The arrows pointing to the right are in-fact pointing to my “Canada” albums that require commencing. The “plan“, I NOW remember, was to basically do two of each page I created – one for the Canadian Album and one for the United States Album. It didn’t happen. Oops!

ScrapTastic Saturday!

This is a new heading for Inkee Fiddlings which I’m going to use to push myself to become more diligent and a tad more consistent with my scrapbooking. My logic is if I have to post something every week then perhaps, just perhaps, I will complete at least ONE double-sided page a week.

With 52 weeks in a year even if I only manage something once a fortnight it gives me at least two dozen pages which gets me so much closer to catching-up then I am right now. Not that I think I will EVER catch up but hey, baby-steps, lol! 🙂

Now, having said all that I have completed absolutely NOTHING this week in the way of scrapbooking but here’s something that I’m sure will bring a smile to your dial. This is one of my double-page spreads I did in a booklet for my parents almost a decade ago. Truly, how sad is this, even the photos I reprinted are of poor quality!

The early scrapbooking years...UGH!

But get this, on the very next page of the very same booklet, I’ve created this… go figure huh!

My very early scrapbooking years!

The long and the short of it though, no matter how “bad” we think, or we know, we were back in our early scrapbooking days, we did scrap and after having all my digital photos stolen, both those on a laptop and my back-up memory sticks, scrapbook photos are now the only photos I now have of those years. So… God Bless Scrapbooking!
