Letterpress Lanterns

Posted on

For something a little different at a workshop last month, as the hostess had requested something for Christmas but didn’t actually specified a CARD, I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do!

The Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Dies (135853 – $40.50) cut out in White Vellum Cardstock; then heat embossed in Gold Embossing Powder; then finished off with Gold 5/8″ Satin Ribbon, Gold 1/8″ Ribbon and Gold Sequin Trim. All this was then completed with a battery operated tea-light candle placed inside!

The lantern on the right I didn’t turn on, wanting to highlight how fabulous it looks if you wanted to use this Curvy Keepsake Box for something other than a lantern!

Making Spirits Bright

Today’s 2-4-Tuesday is the Making Spirits Bright Stamp Set – a fun set for all occasions. Today I tried hard NOT to go for the obvious of Christmas, almost!

The first card with a little help from the Moonlight DSP Stack and the Deco Labels Collection Framelits created a birthday card.

For the second card and with the same framelits I created another frame of sorts. With the help of the Trim the Tree DSP Stack and two beautiful ribbons – 1/8″ Gold Ribbon and Real Red 3/8″ Satin Woven Ribbon – and some knotted Baker’s Twine, it was a thank you card with a twist!

For All Things

A lovely stamp set if you celebrate Fall is the For All Things Stamp Set. I’ve seen some wild and wonderful things done with the set but when I looked at it today all I saw was clean and crisp.

For my first of my 2-4-Tuesday cards I went with tones of brown with Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Soft Suede then some Always Artichoke just to break things up. All very Fall-like!

For the second card I really wanted to introduce some Blackberry Bliss into the card as it feel like FOREVER since I’ve used this color. The same with using the Gold Foil Paper as a border, I honestly can’t remember the last time I did this.

Thus giving me the perfect opportunity to try out one of the beautiful Gold Basic Metal Buttons from the Holiday Catalog. Which, as you can see, works very well with the 1/8″ Gold Ribbon!
