Look Up to My Father!

Posted on

When the Crumb Cake Classic Ink was first introduced I couldn’t get enough of it, using it on what seemed like EVERYTHING but slowly this love waned. So when I reached for it the other day it brought a smile to my face.

Quite apt give the name of the stamp set I was planning to use, Look Up to My Father Stamp from the Celebrate the Everyday catalog. This comes as one stamp but I made the decision from the on-set to cut the sentiment off, thus creating two stamps and a much easier way to utilize the tree. It’s such a beautiful tree, my first in fact, lol! ๐Ÿ™‚

My Father - Cajun Hardwood - JIF

What I hadn’t remembered however after creating this card was that I’d already used the Hardwood Stamp as a background for this very stamp whilst on the crop last month, oops. The card is the same… but different! Don’t you just love the combination of Marina Mist with Baked Brown Sugar?

My Father - Marina Mist - JIFAfter so much hardwood I was more than ready to change things up. A combination of the Banner Framelit Dies and Epic This and That DSP took care of this VERY quickly.

My Father - Epic Tangerine - JIFShould you want to add any of these to your stash whilst I’m away simply click on the SHOP NOW image below which will take you to my 24-hour shopping page – have fun!

Grunge AlphabetPress!

Posted on

You’re in shock aren’t you? Here it is lunch time and I’m already posting my version of this week’s Mojo Monday and what’s more, its tall and skinny. Yikes, never say never!Mojo 343 - Grunge Bermuda Bay - JIF

This is the sketch from Mojo Monday.

Mojo343SketchThe background was my inspiration for today’s card. This stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set is what I used on the cardstock of all my pages on my 2013 Scrapbook Albums. My scratch paper was awash with the most wonderful color burst where I’d stamped off the page.

Immediately I knew I wanted to recreate this and did so with Bermuda Bay, Baked Brown Sugar and Crisp Cantaloupe Classic Inks stamped here and there on my background piece. Another stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set was stamped off in Coastal Cabana Classic Ink onto Coastal Cabana Cardstock. The sentiment from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set was also stamped in Coastal Cabana Classic Ink.

The Baked Brown Sugar Cardstock and Soft Suede Cardstock were both run through the Big Shot using the Alphabet Press Embossing Folder then both were sponged with Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink.

Mojo 343 - Grunge Bermuda Bay - Gorgeous Grunge - JIFFinding something other than flowers as an embellishment is always a challenge for me but thanks to the Simply Stars Stamp Set, you may have noticed I reach for that instead now. Add a little Linen Thread and viola!

Friendship Preserves!

Posted on

There were such BIG plans for the Friendship Preserves Stamp Set that have yet to see the light of day in my Studio. I was going to do so much baking so these stamps could be highlighted but perhaps using Baked Brown Sugar Cardstock might count also, lol. I know, I know, VERY bad segue but it had to be done! Bit like how only in the English language could the letters “ue” create the sound “way” – what’s with that? ๐Ÿ™‚

However, I digress. This card all but created itself as the Fresh Prints DSP Stack even suggests for you on the cover what colors could be used with the DSP. How cool is that? And with the Window Collection Framelits creating a focal point for the stamp, then with the word “bunch” comes flowers so, well, there really wasn’t much to think about after that!

The Open Sea on Sweet Sorbet!

Posted on

As I’ve mentioned MANY times before, having being born beautiful instead of rich (yes, I can laugh at myself – although these days it’s more jiggling than giggling) I tend to save EVERYTHING. Eventually it all becomes useful.

My size determiner is the usability of the products. Ribbon for example have to be long enough to either fit across a two-inch wide tag which thus in-turn makes it’s large enough to be used on the end of sentiment, tag or such.

Open Sea - Ribbon Scraps - JIF

For cardstock and DSP, my smallest punch is the determiner. Thus if I can put a scrap into a punch – I save it. Note the small punched circle on the tag above, seriously who wants to lose a sheet of fresh cardstock to that small-fry?!

As exemplified on the card below, the scrap doesn’t even have to fit the punch completely. Don’t you just love the Sahara Sand Cardstock which compliments this sheet of DSP from Sweet Sorbet perfectly?

Scrap-tastic Sale-a-BrationThis DSP is just one of the many delights which can be yours FREE during Sale-a-Bration 2014 when you spend $60 or more. EVERY $60 you spend you receive something FREE! Seriously, NOW is the time to stock your stash. Think of all those free Christmas gifts you could be accumulating for free leaving you more to spend on your stash!

Contact me soon to book your workshop, which by the way, I’m happy to host here down in the Inkee Fiddling Studio. All you need do is bring your friends and the snacks. Too easy huh?!

It’s a Mojo Soho kind of Monday!

Posted on

Another Monday, another wonderful sketch from the very talented ladies over at the Mojo Monday Blog. This is this week’s sketch…

Mojo334Sketch

This is my take on the sketch and as you can see I have taken my masculine challenge very seriously this time, lol! ๐Ÿ™‚ The card base is Very Vanilla Cardstock with Soho Subway DSP on the top section sponged in Crumb Cake Classic Ink. A strip of Crumb Cake Cardstock with the two cogs from the Clockworks Stamp Set stamped-off in Crumb Cake Classic Ink which was also sponged around the edges before being adhered to the card.

Mojo 334 -Soho Goose - JIFThe bottom section consists of the three colors ofย  Early Espresso, Baked Brown Sugar and Soft Suede Card Stock which I glued to a piece of scratch paper then ran through the Big Shot with the Stripes Embossing Folder. This was all then finished off with three Very Vanilla Candy Dots.

Mojo 334 - monochrome embossed stripsInstead of a scalloped circle I chose to use a die from the Window Frames Collection first in the Early Espresso Cardstock then the smaller one in Very Vanilla Cardstock. Onto both of these die-cuts I used stamps from the Hello, Lovely Stamp Set in Crumb Cake Classic Ink. “You make me happy” was stamped over the entirety of the Very Vanilla Cardstock with one additional one stamped on another piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock which with Stampin’ Dimensionals was then placed in the middle of the other Very Vanilla Cardstock.

Mojo334 - close up tage and sentimentThree of Hubby’s Stripped Goose Feathers from his fly fishing was added as the final touch!
