Bright and Beautiful Star

Posted on

For today’s Die-Cut Thursday I thought I’d try something different with the Stars Framelits.

Instead of stamping then die-cutting, I die-cut a star then used it as a mask, sponging Pool Party Classic Ink within it. I then stamped in the same color a stamp from the Bright and Beautiful Stamp Set.

In the center of these stars I stamped the sentiment from the Bright and Beautiful Stamp Set then Silver Heat-Embossed it. The base and background of this card is Naturals White Cardstock. The card front framed in Pool Party Cardstock then Silver Foil Paper.

Stars for You

The inspiration for this card came from Michelle Last over in the UK. It was perfect as it was just what I wanted for a Shaker Card.

On a base of Crumb Cake Cardstock, dry embossed stars also with Crumb Cake Cardstock were framed with Very Vanilla Cardstock. I then Silver Heat Embossed two stamps from the Chalk Talk Stamp Set. Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive Baker’s Twine finishing off the card before I adhered the Shaker Frame.

For the Shaker Frame a piece of Window Sheet was cut to size then adhered to the top piece where a 1-3/8″ Circle was punched. Onto the bottom embossed piece a 1-1/2″ foam Shaker Frame was attached. I then added my Silver Foil Stars I punched with the Confetti Stars Punch.

Santa Stache

Posted on

After all the fun I had creating the tree ornaments with the Santa Stache Stamp Set last week, I’ve chosen it for this week’s 2-4-Tuesday cards.

Santa was my first choice and I couldn’t resist using snowflakes from the Under the Tree Specialty DSP (I wish I could buy a dozen sheets of JUST this) as his background, with red snowflakes from the Trim the Tree DSP Stack under those with Old Olive Cardstock as the final border.

Initially I die-cut just the Mustache Framelit from the Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Paper but I couldn’t stop there. I then punched a scallop circle of Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Paper for Santa’s beard!

For the next card I went with more snowflakes from the Trim the Tree DSP Stack for under the Nutcracker but I also stamped “nutty or nice” over the Baked Brown Sugar Cardstock background. This card also gave me the opportunity to use the All is Calm Snowflake Embellishments as charms!

Seasonally Scattered Christmas

Posted on

Last week at a workshop the hostess wanted a Make & Take for Christmas but something a little different. Talk about challenging but the Trim the Tree DSP Stack gave me all the inspiration required.

Merry was heat-embossed with Cherry Cobbler Embossing Powder directly onto the DSP, then we mixed things up with Early Espresso Cardstock as my final border and Early Espresso 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon. With the All is Calm Snowflake Embellishment I snipped the hanger from it, adhering it with Sticky Strip then finishing it off with a Rhinestone Basic Jewel. Voila!

Santa’s Stache

Posted on

Today I’ve turned the Gift Card Envelope into ornaments for the Christmas Tree. For both ornaments I used the same design but changed up the color schemes slightly. The finishing touch was coating them both in Crystal Effects to give them the same epoxy effect found on stickers.

Onto a Melon Mambo Cardstock base, snowflakes were heat-embossed from the gorgeous Endless Wishes Stamp Set. The Nutcracker obviously from the fun Santa Stache Stamp Set with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper used to die-cut the Mustache Framelit.

For a more masculine look I chose Real Read Cardstock as the base. Onto the Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Paper I used the lightest Smoky Slate Blendabilities to match the Smoky Slate I used on the Nutcracker’s hair and eye-brows. Both Nutcrackers were colored using the Blendabilities.
