Rainbow Butterflies!

Posted on

I am having SUCH fun with the fringe scissors from the Celebrate the Everyday catalog. Aah, seriously, why couldn’t this catalog simply be called the Spring Catalog, for me it makes so much MORE sense but hey, there’s only a couple more weeks left of it so I’ll stop my moaning but keep that in mind if there was anything in it that you haven’t ordered yet but would like!

Feel Goods - Rainbow Butterflyies - JIF

I love the end result of this card and did you notice how I’ve used some of the left-over Silver Glimmer Paper? I’m still in two minds as to whether or not I should have dry embossed the Silver Foil Paper. What do you think?

Look Up to My Father!

When the Crumb Cake Classic Ink was first introduced I couldn’t get enough of it, using it on what seemed like EVERYTHING but slowly this love waned. So when I reached for it the other day it brought a smile to my face.

Quite apt give the name of the stamp set I was planning to use, Look Up to My Father Stamp from the Celebrate the Everyday catalog. This comes as one stamp but I made the decision from the on-set to cut the sentiment off, thus creating two stamps and a much easier way to utilize the tree. It’s such a beautiful tree, my first in fact, lol! 🙂

My Father - Cajun Hardwood - JIF

What I hadn’t remembered however after creating this card was that I’d already used the Hardwood Stamp as a background for this very stamp whilst on the crop last month, oops. The card is the same… but different! Don’t you just love the combination of Marina Mist with Baked Brown Sugar?

My Father - Marina Mist - JIFAfter so much hardwood I was more than ready to change things up. A combination of the Banner Framelit Dies and Epic This and That DSP took care of this VERY quickly.

My Father - Epic Tangerine - JIFShould you want to add any of these to your stash whilst I’m away simply click on the SHOP NOW image below which will take you to my 24-hour shopping page – have fun!

Fast Geometrical Friday!

Posted on

As you’ve no doubt guess by now, I have rainbows a LOT on mind of late so it will come as no surprise that when I working with the Geometrical Stamp Set earlier in the week I had a ponder how I could incorporate this set in rainbows.

This was my conclusion!

Geometrical - Cheer Up Buttercup - JIF

Each of the triangles has obviously been stamped and punched separately before being adhered with a Stampin’ dimensional, utilizing even the full triangle as leaves for my rainbow flower!

My Mother Trio!

Posted on

I trust everyone had a wonderful Easter, over-indulging in all that was on your table – turkey, ham, and let’s not forget the all-important chocolate, lol!

Now that Easter has been ticked off our lists, our focus shifts over to Mother’s Day which is rapidly approaching. Hence I chose today to use something out of the Celebrate the Everyday Catalog My Mother Stamp Set.

This first card I’ve wanted to do ever since I saw how beautiful Gold Foil and Rose Red Cardstock were together. It also reminded me that I must add Gold and Silver Foil to my order list before the Celebrate the Everyday Catalog expires the beginning of June!

My Mother - Rose Red - JIFThis next card is something along the lines that I originally planned to make for Valentine’s Day except I somehow forgot to do. Initially I hadn’t planned to have a small border of gold but on assembling the card felt it needed just a smidge more kick hence the gold under-layer!

My Mother - Gold Washi Tape - JIF

My last card in this set was more a challenge to use DSP as I have a bad habit of over-looking it when it comes to card design – can’t explain it, I simply do! The frustrating thing with this card is that the sketch took absolutely no time at all the other night but this afternoon it took HOURS. Not that you’d know by looking at the card but it’s a design that could be used for many occasions.

My Mother - Black White DSP - JIF

Simple Stems Trio!

Posted on

One of the challenges I set myself at the crop over the week-end was to do three cards using the beautiful Simple Stems Stamp Set found in the Celebrate the Everyday Catty. With seven stamps in the set it wasn’t going to be a difficult challenge, lol!

For the first card Calypso Coral Cardstock and Smoky Slate Cardstock were used as my layers to highlight the Silver Heat Embossing and the Watercolor Wonder DSP.

Simple Stems - Make a Wish - JIFThis next card is very clean which makes it VERY adaptable to most any situation – thank you, birthday, congratulations, or even with sympathy – simply by swapping the Basic Pearls with a sentiment.

Simple Stems - Baked Brown Sugar - JIF

My last card came together quite by accident. The “L” layout I already had in my mind but it just wasn’t coming together Friday night so went home to sleep on it. Just as slumber was about to wash over me so did inspiration, this being the end result. Oh, how I’m going to miss Primrose Petals, sniff sniff, which I stamped the flower three times in then fussy cut each one then layered them on top of each other with dimensionals!

Simple Stems - Sending Good Thoughts - JIFAs you can see, the Simple Stems Stamp Set is a brilliantly adaptable stamp set, great as part of one’s stash! 🙂

Simple Stems - Stamp Set - JIFRemember though, this is only available in the Celebrate the Everyday Catty which will be concluding June 1, 2014!
