Smoky Slate Stars Mojo!

Posted on

Oh. My. Gosh. This week’s Mojo Monday Challenge came together so quickly that I had actually completed the card and its happy snaps before the tragically bad movie I was watching had finished. This is my card…

Mojo351Sketch - DSP Stars - JIFThis is the sketch by Mojo Monday for this week…

Mojo 351 Sketch

Once again the wonderful new DSP stacks, Moonlight and All Abloom made this card so darn easy as even though these two DSP’s were from different stacks, they worked together beautifully in the true style of Stampin’ Up!

The sentiment from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set was stamped in Blackberry Classic Ink onto Whisper White Cardstock then die-cut with the Banners Framelits, then adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals onto Daffodil Delight Cardstock which also die-cut with the Banners Framelits.

Of course it seems no card of mine would be completed without a little something from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set. With my die-cut of Whisper White Cardstock from the Circles Collection Framelits, I then stamped it in Daffodil Delight, Smoky Slate and Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink.

Perfect Party Butterflies!

Posted on

This was the Make & Take made at my first Sale-a-Bration Workshop for 2014 and as an added treat for each guest, for each card I used a different colored ribbon and matching butterflies. Dang, if only I’d taken a photo of all the different cards as they were just so pretty!

And by making them all different colors what a great gift for a family member or a friend. You could even go so far as putting a different sentiment on each one!

Lovin’ the Smooch Spritz!!!

Posted on

It’s not that I want to do but I really think I have to admit defeat on my Mojo Monday’s actually happening on a Monday! Yes, I know, for my own peace of mind I always back-date my blog so it shows Monday’s date but more often my Mojo happens on a Wednesday. I know I should accept this but for whatever reason, I’m not yet ready to accept it just yet. I’ll give it just one more week!

In the meantime however this is this weeks Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo 319 SketchAnd here is my interpretation. Very quick, yet quite effective don’t you think? I’ve used a Whisper White card base and onto that have adhered Crumb Cake Cardstock but not before I gave it a good spritz with the Smooch. Ooooo, how I’m lovin’ the Smooch! I even spritzed the doily after I’d lightly sponged the edges with Crumb Cake Ink. And I’m not sure if you can see it, but I’ve also stamped stars onto the doily with the Illumination Glimmer Watermark Ink.

I punched a circle from one of Season of Style Designer Journaling Tags then ran the thick end of a Cherry Cobbler Marker around its edges before adding some Dazzling Diamonds. A ribbon of paper was cut from the Season of Style DSP Stack and before I added the ribbon of Season of Style Washi Tape which I mounted onto Whisper White cardstock to ensure its colors would pop!

She Believed She could… so she did!

Posted on

This is one of those cards that looks like you’ve gone to a lot more effort than you really have. Another thing, I’m not really a yellow person, yellow is never my first choice of color, yet here I’ve used So Saffron twice in the one week!

She believed she could

On a So Saffron Base I’ve added Cajun Craze to border the Natural Ivory which I’ve spritzed with the Cajun Craze and Chocolate Chip then added Mini Silver Brads to each corner. The sentiment from Feel Goods stamp set was stamped in Cajun Craze.

She believed she could butterfies

Then in Cajun Craze the rectangular Designer Framed was embossed then fussy-cut out. To the center of this frame I simply added a piece of the Gingham Garden DSP and from the reverse side of that same paper, I punched two different sized butterflies, layering one upon the other. Adding some bling to the butterflies with Rhinestone Jewels and a hint of Dazzling Diamonds (I couldn’t resist!).

CARD RECIPE
Cardstock: So Saffron, Cajun Craze, Natural Ivory
Stamp Set: Feel Goods
Classic Ink: Cajun Craze
DSP: Gingham Garden
Punches: Bitty Butterfly, Elegant Butterfly
Big Shot Elements: Designer Frames
Embellishments: 1/8″ Mini Brads, Rhinestone Basic Jewels,
Dazzling Diamonds
Essentials: Stampin’ Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips,
Sticky Strip, Two-Way Glue, Spritzer, Stampin’ Dimensionals

To flu or not to flu… that is the question!

Posted on

After the garage sale I waited and waited to feel this great sense of relief as I thought once I purged myself of a lot of my excess gear I’d have this weight lifted from my shoulders. Well, that’s what I’ve heard a lot of these  experts say at least. I really thought the “heavy” feeling I’d been experiencing for so long would miraculously disappear… well it didn’t heh?!

But a funny thing happened whilst I was away on the week-end… whilst I was away “creating” with Britney, Paris, Nicole, Jessica, Lindsay and Kelly (names have been changed to protect the innocent) my darling hubby was disassembling our old 510l fridge/freezer that so within hours of my arriving home on Monday morning, we had the huge sucker down the four flights of stairs and into the garage.

It was almost four months to the day since it had ceased to work that it was finally no longer sitting stagnant it my dining room. It was after this that I promptly fell asleep on the couch, have now slept EVERY afternoon since, and am  now I’m fighting what I guess is a summer flu as I can’t  go anywhere without my box of tissues and feel as if a bus has hit me. Oh happy days!

Today, however was NOT wasted as to get me in the Christmas spirit the children and I watched back to back Christmas movies. I only managed three movies before falling asleep. I was then woken a couple of hours later with a very late afternoon snack of… a fried egg! Yes, Master Nine loves his fried eggs as much as I do so had made us each a fried egg as a snack! Don’t you love it?!

Anyways, enough moaning. This is one of the cards I made for my last SAS (Stamp-a-Stack) classes. This year I seem to be favouring pink, purple and white for Christmas. With the exception of the base card, each piece of white cardstock I’ve embossed with the polka dot embossing folder.

The Christmas Ornament has been stamped twice, having been kissed with both Elegant Eggplant and Melon Mambo. It was then punched out with the Ornament punch with one of these having a 1inch circle punched from the centre and then dazzling diamonds glued all around the remaining cardstock. And of course a rhinestone placed in the centre of the ornament pattern.

Card Recipe
Stamp Sets: Delightful Decorations
Classic Inks: Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo
Cardstock: Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo
Accessories: Polka Dot Embossing Folder, Ornament Punch,
1″ Circle Punch, Dazzling Diamonds, Rhinestone Jewels, Stampin’ Dimensionals
