She Believed She could… so she did!

Posted on

This is one of those cards that looks like you’ve gone to a lot more effort than you really have. Another thing, I’m not really a yellow person, yellow is never my first choice of color, yet here I’ve used So Saffron twice in the one week!

She believed she could

On a So Saffron Base I’ve added Cajun Craze to border the Natural Ivory which I’ve spritzed with the Cajun Craze and Chocolate Chip then added Mini Silver Brads to each corner. The sentiment from Feel Goods stamp set was stamped in Cajun Craze.

She believed she could butterfies

Then in Cajun Craze the rectangular Designer Framed was embossed then fussy-cut out. To the center of this frame I simply added a piece of the Gingham Garden DSP and from the reverse side of that same paper, I punched two different sized butterflies, layering one upon the other. Adding some bling to the butterflies with Rhinestone Jewels and a hint of Dazzling Diamonds (I couldn’t resist!).

Just another EPIC Monday!

Posted on

I have to say I’m getting better as even though it’s 9.30 at night, at least it’s MONDAY night when I’m posting this. It’s not the usual Thursday or Friday where I’m post-dating it so that is something!

Anyways, enough dribble, as I said, it’s Monday so that means a fresh MOJO Monday sketch. This is Mojo Monday’s Sketch 312…

Mojo312Sketch

And here’s my interpretation of it. Unintentionally I seemed to have used a little bit of everything today. My first choice was this beautiful DSP from the Epic Day This and That range. There were so many colors in this pattern one was spoilt for choice so I began with the Baked Brown Sugar Base with a layer of Gumball Green on that before adding the DSP.

For the center strip I went with Soft Suede cardstock for a hint of richness of color but not too much. Onto that I chose a stamp from the Clockworks set, stamping it in Soft Suede Classic Ink for visual texture. Then I added three Wild Wasabi Candy Dots!

Then instead of ribbon I used strips of DSP from the Gingham Garden range. A sentiment was added from the Chalk Talk stamp set in Soft Suede Classic Ink onto Crumb Cake cardstock. This was then punched and sponged before being adhered with dimensionals onto another larger punched circle also sponged and adhered with dimensionals.

I’m more than happy with it and the best part, it’s still MONDAY, I didn’t ponder over it for days!

Where’s my MOJO ?!

Posted on

Not quite sure what’s going on with me at the moment but there always seems to be a reason NOT to be heading down into the Studio. Which is really sad when you consider I treated myself to a LOT of pre-order products from the new 2013-14 Idea Book and Catalog and want to do a lot MORE ordering… aaaahhhh!

So what’s a girl to do when her Mojo’s low? Check out Mojo Monday of course and I have to say, I’m rather chuffed with the end result!

Mojo 296 - Thinking of You

This is the sketch from Mojo Monday for this week.

Mojo296Sketch

Having printed off the sketch, I knew I wanted a patterned paper as my base so immediately went to the new Gingham Garden to find something. As soon as I saw this DSP with its wonderful colors I knew it would be the one as it seemed the perfect excuse to finally attempt the ribbon wrap flowers. The Summer Starfruit and Primrose Petals 3/8″ Satin Ribbon did the job beautifully as the stripes in the ribbon came out almost like spots!

Mojo 296 - Thinking of You - Ribbon Flower

All these lovely flowers needed a butterfly of course. Papillon Potpourri is my go-to stamp-set choice at present as it has a co-ordinating stamp for each the Bitty Butterfly and Elegant Butterfly Punch. LUV IT!!! Naturally I couldn’t resist adding some Pearl Basic Jewels and Dazzling Details and have it sitting on a 1-1/4″ Circle Scallop which I’ve also added a little dazzle too!

Mojo 296 - Thinking of you - Butterfly

The sentiment I chose is from the Hostess Set Express Yourself. I think is going to be my “go-to” sentiment set for this summer as there are 12 sentiments to choose from. Now I’m not sure if you noticed in the first photograph but on this strip of Very Vanilla cardstock I’ve used a stamp from the Clockworks set and stamped it off in the Pistachio Pudding to take away the starkness of the Very Vanilla.

Mojo 296 - Thinking of you - Sentiment

Well, I may not have completely found my Mojo but it feels a lot closer than it did earlier!
