Happy Watercolor in Green!

Posted on

Goodness me, I began this post almost 12 hours ago but was side-tracked with non-working speakers on my computer. An easy fix I first thought but I fear after down-loading every possible solution, resetting the computer from three weeks ago and then doing a complete computer file scan, I am still in silence. 🙁

Fortunately when I took my Happy Watercolor stamp set out the other day I had much better luck. I seemed to have challenged myself with these cards also with the color green. Can’t tell you why this happened but as green isn’t a color I would normally chose I obviously pushed myself.

This is my favorite card. I thought I’d CASE’d it from the Spring Catty but perhaps it was another magazine from Stampin’ Up! Regardless, it’s a lovely card where I stamped the poppy twice onto Raspberry Ripple Cardstock then fussy-cut it them both out, adhering one with a dimensional onto the other before adhering flat against the card itself. I also stamped another poppy onto Summer Starfruit Cardstock and fussy-cut just the center to place inside the Raspberry Ripple.Happy Watercolor - Red Poppy - JIFFor the next card I wanted to utilize some of the beautiful Delicate Details Lace Tape. This tape comes in a pack of  two designs and is self-adhesive, making it VERY easy to add a little “something” to your projects without much fuss. For this card I used the Gumball Green Core’dinations but as stamping onto that cardstock isn’t the best, I flipped the cardstock so one could see the texture but wasn’t impeded by it.

Happy Watercolor - White Lace - JIFAs painful as it is to fussy-cut, I couldn’t resist trying it again but this time using the Summer Starfruit Cardstock. Once again, I stamped the poppy in Black StazOn to give a much richer color. The poppies were also stamped in Black StazOn onto the card whereby I “filled” the centers with the fussy-cut images then added a rhinestone and some Dazzling Diamonds. All very effective if I do say so myself, and yes, I do say so myself, lol!

Petal Parade Sale-a-Bration!

Posted on

Petal Parade is just one of the stamp sets you can earn this year during Sale-a-Bration with every $60 you spend with Stampin’ Up!

It has been pointed out to me how this set has no sentiments but please don’t let this deter you as the stamps themselves are fabulous. In fact, this is the set I chose to use as background stamps on a sheet of tissue paper when making a gift bag over the week-end. Note the tissue UNDER the gift bag prior to my wrapping the gift! PLUS did you notice the fringe of Watercolor Wonder DSP from the Spring Catalog created with the new FRINGE SCISSORS, cool huh?

Happy Day Gift Bag

For this next card I’ve used Pistachio Pudding Classic Ink and after stamping the first flower from the Petal Parade Stamp Set, stamped off the next two before adding a strip of color from the Sweet Sorbet DSP plus a tag with a sentiment from the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set from the current Spring Catalog that was also sponged in Pistachio Pudding.

Petal Parade - You Make me Happy

The next card had a base of the Sweet Sorbet DSP (from SALE-A-BRATION) with a tag using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch from the Spring Catalog. Onto this I stamped various stamps from the Petal Parade Stamp Set (from SALE-A-BRATION), adding a sentiment from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set on offer in the Spring Catalog as part of a Bundle Set if you want. As for the twine, that too is part of SALE-A-BRATION! I’ve also used a stamp from Petal Parade on the circle to create a unique background. So effective yet so easy!

Petal Parade - HelloAlso you’ll note in this Spring Catalog, there are a few items that have been carried over from the Holiday Catalog. One of these items I’m pleased to see is the Envelope Liners Framelits Dies. I did purchase them from the Holiday Catalog but never really used them but as you can see from the cards above, I’m making up for lost time. There are three dies in the set with the largest die creating the perfect liner for Stampin’ Up’s Medium Envelopes. How to make something already looking good, look fabulous!
