Floral Statements!

Posted on

Finally I’m getting to the stamp sets I bought back in July after the current Annual Catalog was first released. Better late then never huh?!

This week my chosen stamp set is Floral Statements. Colored or in one color, inked or heat embossed, whatever you do, this stamp set is just gorgeous!

There are only the two stamps in this set but as the name suggests, they both make a statement. This set can be found on page 163 of the Annual Catalog.

Hopefully I will get through all my new stamp sets before the release of the new Annual Catalog in June. Wish me luck!

Golden Lighthouse Ray (SIP Challenge #111)

What’s that saying? Plan your work then work your plan. Yeah sure. Whoever said that obviously never experienced a summer-staycation where all sense of time is lost!

This week’s challenge from Stamp, Ink, Paper is… BEACH! Initially I wasn’t going to partake as I have no beachy stamps. Then as I was clearing my workbench I saw “High Tide” and thought, why not! Here is my card.

Please click on the link above if you’d like to join in with the weekly challenges or to simply see all the wonderful interpretations there are for each challenge.

Unbelievably, here it is Sunday and I’ve done BOTH of the new card challenges I’ve found this last week on the same day, today, instead of paced out during the week as planned. Dang it!

The silver-lining is of course is that today I’ve made two cards – that’s twice as many as last week so I’m more than happy, lol!

Happy Father’s Day!

Posted on

What a wonderful Father’s Day. It began as it should with pressies for my Darling Husband and finished with take-out for dinner but how’s this… Master Nine had been prattling on about a gift he wanted to buy his father but as I had the gifts already sorted I was doing the “mother thing” of conveniently forgetting.

That was until Friday afternoon when he showed me the father’s daycard he’d made at school. I asked him to read to me what he’d written, well… I almost ran off the road didn’t I? He’d conveniently written on the card amongst the general blurb “hope you like this new fishing gear dad“… that was that then wasn’t it, straight around to the  fishing shop wasn’t it? Turns out Darling Husband had never considered a lip grip before but Master Nine had been asking for one for a LONG time. You gotta laugh!

This is the card I made for my Darling Husband. The Silver “D” I’ve had for the longest time. I bought us each one over the three years ago now, maybe even four – the children’s I used on each of their albums for their nanny; mine I used on my sketch book; and hubby’s… I’ve been waiting for just the right occasion which was obviously now!

I’ve been looking and looking at this picture, wondering what it is about it that is bugging me and I’ve just realised it’s the card base itself – it should be WHITE. Not very white is it in this photo is it, looks very gray… hmmmmm… maybe I should take my photos during the day… hmmmmm.

Just ONE more day for the bling special!

Posted on

Don’t forget tomorrow is the last day to take advantage of the Stampin’ Up! Deal of the Week and their gorgeous bling and ribbons. I’ve yet to put in my own order so if you’ve only just decided to place an order it isn’t too late – just call me!

My goodness, here it is the end of June and I have yet to show you June’s Stamp-a-Stack. This is going to be interesting trying to get NINE photos onto this one page. With these classes normally you would see just the three cards – one of each of the  three designs but…

With this month’s class I used just the one stamp set, Fun and Fast Notes. This particular stamp set has eight stamps in it – all of which I used. I know, I know, I said nine cards but I just said the stamp set only had eight stamps well… just so happens one of the stamps is of a baby pram which I of course leads itself to… one in pink, one in blue, and one Christmas tree!

and then there were the Razzleberry cards…

and then the brown cards (my personal favs)…

Don’t be deceived with these photos though as even though these last six cards LOOK square, they aren’t!
