Memorable Moments by Sylwia Schreck

This post has been written by the incredibly talented Sylwia Schreck,
a member of Stampin’ Up! 2018 Artisan Design Team.
Back when I was as young as my daughter in this photo, cameras looked way different. Who remembers the black rolls of film you had to insert into the camera first? More often than not, you wouldn’t even know how the images would come out as you had to develop the film first. Those that turned out well ended up in a photo album.
Today, taking pictures is completely different. Any smartphone can capture the marvelous moments in life as high quality images. We don’t print as many photos as we used to. Most of them just sit on our devices. Well, I decided to preserve my most beautiful moments in a different way—by creating a layout.
A small moment of happiness, the smile of a child, is more than worth being documented and preserved in this special way. They are growing up so fast and every moment we can capture is precious.
For the base of my layout, I used Whisper White 12″ x 12″ Cardstock (item 124302). To add some color, I used two sheets of Nature’s Poem Designer Series Paper (item 146338): one to create the outer frame and the other one to cut out a heart shape that I layered with a smaller heart that was fussy cut as well. Then I used a sewing machine to sew on all of my four paper layers.
Next, I decorated the heart frame with various flowery elements (items 145655, 145617, 142749, 143659) as well as with some stamped images from the A Good Day Stamp Set (item 145586) that my daughter loves so much—including the bunny, the super-cute deer, the little bird, and the ice cream, of course! The sentiment “Du bist unvergleichlich” (English version: “You are wonderful”) is from the Rooted in Nature Stamp Set (item 146482). I embossed it using Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder (item 109129) on translucent Vellum 8-1/2″ x 11″ Cardstock (item 101856).
I hope you like my little memorable moment. Keep on creating!

Petal Potpourri Twosome

The Petal Potpourri Stamp Set on page 23 of the Occasions Catalog is just brilliant and is also part of a bundle which is even better. The bundle includes the stamp set along with the co-ordinating punch which I’ve used on my first card!

Petal Potpourri with the help of Project Life

For the second card I just HAD to use some of the gorgeous Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim, using one of the Project Life cards from the Let’s Get Away Set as my background. The die-cut “for you” is from the Mini Treat Thinlets on page 9.

Believe it or not there are actually four different flowers in this particular set but as you can see, I already have a favourite… oops! 🙂

Project Life quotes…

Last week I showed you a quick yet effective card using the Project Life Cards Collections and this week I’m going to show you another. This time though using a quote from that same set.

Project Life - Quote - JIF

Yep, I’m becoming a tad addicted to these Project Life Cards Collection and have already begun deciding which will be the next set to purchase. Fixated? perhaps, lol! 🙂
