Happy Watercolor in Green!

Posted on

Goodness me, I began this post almost 12 hours ago but was side-tracked with non-working speakers on my computer. An easy fix I first thought but I fear after down-loading every possible solution, resetting the computer from three weeks ago and then doing a complete computer file scan, I am still in silence. ๐Ÿ™

Fortunately when I took my Happy Watercolor stamp set out the other day I had much better luck. I seemed to have challenged myself with these cards also with the color green. Can’t tell you why this happened but as green isn’t a color I would normally chose I obviously pushed myself.

This is my favorite card. I thought I’d CASE’d it from the Spring Catty but perhaps it was another magazine from Stampin’ Up! Regardless, it’s a lovely card where I stamped the poppy twice onto Raspberry Ripple Cardstock then fussy-cut it them both out, adhering one with a dimensional onto the other before adhering flat against the card itself. I also stamped another poppy onto Summer Starfruit Cardstock and fussy-cut just the center to place inside the Raspberry Ripple.Happy Watercolor - Red Poppy - JIFFor the next card I wanted to utilize some of the beautiful Delicate Details Lace Tape. This tape comes in a pack ofย  two designs and is self-adhesive, making it VERY easy to add a little “something” to your projects without much fuss. For this card I used the Gumball Green Core’dinations but as stamping onto that cardstock isn’t the best, I flipped the cardstock so one could see the texture but wasn’t impeded by it.

Happy Watercolor - White Lace - JIFAs painful as it is to fussy-cut, I couldn’t resist trying it again but this time using the Summer Starfruit Cardstock. Once again, I stamped the poppy in Black StazOn to give a much richer color. The poppies were also stamped in Black StazOn onto the card whereby I “filled” the centers with the fussy-cut images then added a rhinestone and some Dazzling Diamonds. All very effective if I do say so myself, and yes, I do say so myself, lol!

You’re Lovely in Pink!

Posted on

For a Fast Friday, it’s taking me longer to write this post than it did to make the card – what’s with THAT, lol?! Sadly, it really has become one of THOSE weeks. ๐Ÿ™

Plus it would seem this week I’m in a very “pink” frame of mind. Not sure why, perhaps its a Ying/Yang thing, but after last week always reaching for the Bermuda Bay, this week I’m turning to pink. And if that’s not bad enough, I’ve CASE’d a card almost as exactly AS IS. Honestly, this seldom EVER happens with me. Habit has me changing most everything without even realizing it!

Are you familiar with this term – CASEing? Copy And Share Everything! It’s very acceptable in card-making although card etiquette does ask that credit is given where credit is due. In this CASE (pardon the pun but it had to be said, lol) it was Sharon Cheng, one VERY talented lady.

Now, without further ado here is MY card, lol!

Youre Lovely in Pink!

Talk about a great way to use up your scraps as all the colored cardstock came from my scrap-stash. Even the piece of White Vellum Cardstock came from my scraps. I love how this You’re Lovely stamp from the Sale-a-Bration selection compliments the Deco Labels Collections Dies.

Also, if you’re wanting to try this card yourself, the width of my strips from left to right were – 4cm, 3.5cm, 3cm and 2.5cm. The length is at your own discretion.

CARD RECIPE
Cardstock: Whisper White, Rose Red, Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals,

Bermuda Bay on Whisper White is fast becoming a favorite of mine along with the new stamp set Really Good Greetings as they are really good! Of course the new Mosaic Punch used on the Quatrefancy Specialty DSP aligned with the new Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder are all rather fabulous also!

Bring on the Sunshine…

Posted on

Or should I be saying bring on the new catalog, I’m not sure but before the 2013-2014 IB&C goes live in a matter of hours, here’s one last card with products from the Spring Catty which will be finishing tomorrow night at midnight. So… bring on the sunshine!

Inkee Fiddlings - Bring on the Sunshine

Wow, the flash makes it look as if I’ve used a lot more Dazzling Details than I have! It’s only on the leaves and flower petals believe it or not. Isn’t the bird cute though? It’s a strip of DSP from the Birds of a Feather collection.Inkee Fiddlings - Bring on the Sunshine - Birds of a Feather

The card was seeming a little flat so I added one of the Designer Builder Brads to the center and to the center of that I’ve added Basic Pearl Jewels (uh-oh, and I thought I’d been using a lot of the butterflies lately...).

Just Thinking… again!!!

Posted on

As promised, here is my girlie take on the Just Thinking stamp available now in the Stampin’ Up! Spring Catalog but only until the end of next week, May 31!

Inkee Fiddlings - Just Thinking of You - Raspberry Ripple

On a background of Whisper White I’ve adhered some Print Poetry DSP layered onto Raspberry Ripple. Still in the Raspberry Ripple I’ve used the heart adorning accent folder to emboss an inch-wide strip which has been gently rubbed with Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint then centered on the card. To this on either side I’ve added some of the 5/8″ย  Flower Trims.

Inkee Fiddlings - Just Thinking - Raspberry Ripple

For the stamp I used Raspberry Ripple Classic Ink on Whisper White, cutting close to the edge. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, this was centered on a frame die-cut from the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies in Raspberry Ripple. This too had Stampin’ Dimensionals added to it along with the Dazzling Details before being centered onto the inch embossed strip.
