Dang Cat!

Fergus, our cheeky fur-ball, has a tendency of starting up the printer or scanner whilst on his way to the window to obtain the best vantage point of the front garden. It’s not unusual to see numerous blank pieces of paper sitting in the out tray after one of his ventures.

But in this instance his nimble claws published this picture without as much as a  how do you do… and I’m not even going to mention that he’s now sitting on my chest as I’m typing this… dang cat! What Fergus failed to mention was that this was June’s Off-the-Page class…

This month was going to be a mini scrapbook but once I saw this wonderful card holder designed by the very talented Christine Healey (SUD) I instantly knew that this would be something that could be used many times over as this folder holds three cards and envelopes comfortably. Just perfect as a gift!

For this set I used the Cottage Wall DSP and the Vintage Vogue stamp set and Very Vintage Wheel. All these are available in the current Autumn-Winter Catalogue. Don’t hesitate to contact me inkeefiddlings@gmail.com or 07 5309 6364 – should you require any further information or would like to place an order for any of the products used, or heck, if you simply what to purchase the finished product itself!

And don’t forget, you don’t need to be local to place an order with me as orders can be delivered directly to your door  anywhere within Australia – how good is that!

As I said earlier, this card folder with three cards makes a wonderful gift. Here are a few I made for my recent trip to the Perth, what do you think?

Flower Power…

Posted on

Of all the photos I could of been posting, I’ve only just realised tonight that I’ve never posted the cards that were made in my “Technique Tuesday/Thursday” class back in the first week of May. Not sure how THAT happened but given how full speed life is at present, I guess it’s understandable in some ways. This is card #1… To You From Me

There was a slight change in my class in that instead of utilising two different punches – both the scallop and the five-petal punch – to make four different flower, only the one punch was used to make three flowers. After careful consideration I felt it better to put the time into making three fabulous flowers rather then racing the clock to tick the box on four flowers. This is card #2… For You

Don’t you just love the how the Medium Jewelry Tag from the Autumn-Winter Mini Catalogue creates the delightful white picket fence?! I prefer calling this punch the “tiny tag” punch as this is what it is to me so if I ever mention a tiny tag punch I’m sure this is the one I’ll be referring to! It’s actually a white background but the bad lighting has it looking very similar to the Pale Plum I used on card #1.

And lucky last, card #3… Thank You for your Friendship

Unfortunately taking this photo at night has done NOTHING for the colours I’ve chosen. The background is Taken with Teal with the DSP being Urban Garden. After circling this pack for so long, now if anyone looked at my cards I’ve been making of late they would think this is the only pack of DSP I have!

And of course I couldn’t help myself by using the Big Shot’s Leaf Sizzlit with all three cards. What can I say – I love it – much like my alphabet sizzlet set but more of that another time! But as you can see, just the one punch and three beautiful flowers. I can’t decide which I like the best as they are all so effective. Miss Seven loves the rolled rose flower (card #2), whilst Master Eight leaned towards the scrunched flower (card #3). Guess that leaves me with card #1!!!

Time flies when you start creating…

it never fails to amaze me how quickly the time between 9am and 3pm goes! Especially when you are racing the clock with a pending birthday party this week-end. Yes… I thought I was all organised with the Girl Child’s birthday present because I’d bought it weeks ago.

I may have bought it weeks ago but it was by pure chance that Boy Child came down the night before last looking for something very similar which prompted me to think of the one I’d bought for Sunday. Thank goodness, as there is just the one minor detail with it… I HAD TO DECORATE IT... OMG!!!

Needless to say yesterday and today have been operation GET BOOK COVERED. This is what I think could be the end result…

Fortunately I managed to die-cut all my letters on my Big Shot yesterday, then put Crystal Effects onto each one to give them the acrylic look. I also sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds over them all whilst they were setting just to give them a little more ompf. If I’d had a tad more time I would have made a point of lining up the letters  when I stuck them to the cover a little better but it is what it is now. And I think Miss Six, who will then be Miss Seven, will still enjoy it just as it is.

I’ve even managed a box for it with matching DSP stuck onto card-stock to give it some extra strength then lined it with some of the shredded tissue I had left over from the Easter Basket that was my April’s “Off the Page” class. Today I made my first acetate lid. I’ve never done more then use acetate as paint trays in the past so this was WAY out of my comfort zone. It took three goes until I had something I was happy with and strangely enough, the two “rejects” fitted together neatly to make a clear box… spooky!

But as I look at the clock I see something very familiar to me, any my poor family… I’M LATE… best run!

Enjoy Every Moment…

is the stamp set that I’m highlighting this month in my “Make and Take” classes on Monday 24 and Thursday 27 May. I really like this set as like so many of the Stampin’ Up! sets, it’s just so versatile. It’s so easy to make it more masculine or a little feminine, or just a little fun. This is a quick peek at what we’ll be doing in the classes.

As you may be able to see from the Ballet Blue and Chocolate Chip card, we even have a play with the Stamp-a-ma-jig from Stampin’ Up!.  And of course, as far as I’m concerned, no card is ever complete without a sprinkling of Dazzling Diamonds and a smidge of bling!

I used this stamp set to do a card for a friend in Melbourne last year that I really wanted to show you all but Murphy’s Law has me unable to find it – typical! On Cammie’s card I included a row of those cut little mirror tiles from Spotlight to it which really made it into something else again.

Honestly, this is such a fun set so if you don’t already have it, please drop me a line and we’ll quickly rectify that for you. Order today and you could even have the set in your hands by this time next week in time to have a play over the week-end.

Oh, and have yourself an... Inkee Fiddling Day!
