Let’s go to Alaska!

Posted on

Where does the time go? I never seem to have a moment to catch my breath. Which is sort of good as you won’t catch me complaining that I’m bored but sometimes, just sometimes, I think I’d almost like to be… maybe, lol! 🙂

Then again, my Darling Boy went in for both a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy yesterday morning so I’ve been feverishly buzzing around the house all week ensuring all my chores, and THEN some, were completed so that I’d be available to him. Seems I was a tad OVER-concerned as he’s bounced back fabulously. Even has a friend over this afternoon!

This is now allowing me a head-start on our Alaskan Cruise Album. I know right, I’m creating a holiday album for a holiday we’ve had in this VERY year. Weird huh? The pages have been planned as such…

Alaskan Cruise time already!!!

I’ve even chosen the cardstock and patterns for all these pages which oddly, given the destination, are mostly in shades and patterns of green. Green not even being a color of mine. WHAT is going on?! 🙂

I ask you, is a week too long to nap? Last night I had myself in a TOTAL panic as I’d lost a glass of water. How could ANYONE lose a glass of water without even moving? Just as tears were beginning to surface I looked down, and yes, sadly the glass had been in my hand the entire time. Excuse me, bedtime!

Ta-dah, completed album – TICK!!!

Posted on

Weeks of work have culminated in the completion of my 2013 Cruise Album. That hissing sound you can just hear is my sigh of relief at this, which became quite the epic album in the end!

2013 Cruise COMPLETED - yee hah!!!

When it came to that Final Page I knew EXACTLY what I wanted to do but the photographs eluded me. Eventually I made the decision to keep this page VERY clean-cut and to the point. Maybe later I’ll add the corresponding photographs, maybe, maybe not!

2013 Cruise - Final page!

With only a few pages to go I was so worried that I’d essentially done the same design on every page but as I slowly go through each and every page now I haven’t. I’m still in awe at myself at just how many photographs I can add to a page!

Here’s wishing you a wonderful wet week-end – the perfect opportunity to do a little creating if you aren’t participating in the local Fishing Derby!

Typeset Scrapbooking

Wanting to do something a little different my New Orleans pages, I used some of the Typeset DSP to create filing pages for each of the three sections I wanted to highlight. The tabs I created from a framelit from the Chalk Talk Framelits set, folding in half to create the tab look.

New Orleans Highlights in Typeset!

I just want to make a quick disclosure here stating the first four photos for our hotel came from their website as all the photos I thought I’d taken of the hotel and our room were obviously all in my mind. I could not find ONE photo, with the exception of the coffee-bar-box that I’d taken. Very odd…

So many photos, so few pages!

I’m still plodding along with my album for last year’s cruise. Oddly, when I began setting it all up week-end before last I HONESTLY thought I would be finished by now. Huh?

There were almost 3,000 photos I took on that cruise and I thought I’d been done in 12 days. The word “delusional” comes to mind, lol. 🙂 875 photos for the ten hours we were crossing the Panama Canal alone!

In the end I decided to do three double-page spreads on the crossing but I could have done an entire album. I may just do that but not until I’ve caught up on ALL my albums. Here’s my double-page on the locks.

Panama CanalThirty-four photographs in total are on this double-page spread. Some may say too many but there’s still 334 more on the locks I didn’t use!

Scrapbooking – always a love/hate relationship between it and I – the end results however are ALWAYS worth it! 🙂
