Mojo with a Tangelo Twist!

Posted on

Oh yeah, Mojo Monday gave us one of THOSE cards again. You know the one, Tall and Skinny, oh how I despise it but I now have a new challenger in the house spurring me on, Girl Child. I say, bring it on! This is my card.

MojoSketch352 - Tangelo Twist - JIFThis is the sketch this week from Mojo Monday.

MojoSketch352The base for my card today is Natural Ivory Cardstock. I don’t have many opportunities to utilize this cardstock but today I wanted to use the Tangelo Twist Cardstock which just happened to work beautifully with it.

The only stamp set I used was the magical Work of Art Stamp Set. As you can see I was able to create four different backgrounds from it simply using the Tangelo Twist Classic Ink. PLUS it has the most delightful sentiment – talk about value for money!

Moonlight Lagoon Mojo Monday!

Posted on

As the saying goes… better late than never!

Here it is Saturday and it is only now that I have been able to choose the “right” sentiment for my Mojo Monday card for this week. Or as a good friend has now rechristened it, Mojito Monday – no guessing why we’re friends huh? Lol!

Here is my card using one of the Moonlight DSP’s as my base and my feature. The base with a thin border of Smoky Slate Cardstock and the side pieces with a thin border of 2014-2016 In-Color Hello Honey Cardstock. The center circles and sentiment are all with the new 2014-2016 In-Color Lost Lagoon, noice!

And this is this week’s Mojo Sketch 350.

Mojo350Sketch

The new 2014-2016 In-Color Lost Lagoon worked brilliantly with these colors but looked a little bland against the patterns of the base. With the help of a little bling in the form of the small Basic Rhinestone Jewels to create a border (oh how I love those borders), a stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set, and some Silver 1/8″ Ribbon, all that was changed!

Trying to come up with an embellishment other than a flower did have me thinking for more than a few moments but the Triangle Punch, a carry-over from the Everyday Occasions Catty, quickly solved THAT problem. Two triangles placed at right-angles on top of two others created a wonderful “space-like” embellishment.

Tweaking Thanks!

Earlier in the week I had a few spare moments, I know weird huh, but I had put aside a couple of hours for a lunch out with friends which was postponed hence found myself with some glorious “unplanned” hours.

As I sat and pondered how blessed we are this Christmas it occurred to me that some Christmas Thank You Cards are a must. This is what I came up with.

Joyful Christmas Thankyou - Red White Silver Card - JIF

Enough I hear you shout of the embossed Joyful Christmas flower on the vellum but hey, I love it don’t you? Plus, look what I did with the combination of thankful and merry Expressions Thinlit Dies – I created thanks. There is no ‘S’ in any of the three words hence needed to create one.

Hmmm, that tested the old grey matter and after only one false start, discovered if the Silver Foil was placed upside-down onto the second ‘R’ in merry which was then turned upside-down once created, a ‘S’ is born. It does the job.

Joyful Christmas Thankyou - Red White Silver - JIFAnd who would have thought that a Raspberry Ripple In-Color Dahlias in the center of the flower would finish it of so well?
