Get Your Santa On

Posted on

This stamp set is such a hoot I couldn’t resist choosing it as today’s 2-4-Tuesday. Even the name of it is fun – Get Your Santa On!

And I admit for this first card there isn’t much originality as I so loved the design similar to this in the Holiday Catalog I just had to CASE it and make it mine. Thank you Stampin’ Up!

Ornamental Pines

Posted on

The Ornamental Pines Stamp Set is today’s 2-4-Tuesday stamp set.

For this first card I tried to push myself away from the traditional Christmas colors using Strawberry Slush Cardstock and Pool Party Cardstock instead as my frames around the Silver Heat-Embossed stamp on the Whisper White Cardstock.

I added a strip of Silver Foil Paper which I punched with Confetti Stars. Over the half-way mark of this punching I’ve adhered with Stampin Dimensionals a sentiment stamped on Pool Party Cardstock in Pool Party Classic Ink from the Merry Everything Stamp Set then punched with the Note Tag Punch.

Ornamental Pine - Silver Embossing - JIF

As tempting as it was to emboss the pine-needles again for this second card I resisted the urge, choosing instead to only Silver Heat-Emboss the pine-cones onto the Always Artichoke Classic Ink stamped needles.

A Silver Glimmer Paper strip edged either side with 1/8″ Real Red Ribbon really popped against the background of Very Vanilla Cardstock. The sentiment was die-cut from the Window Frames Collection Framelits then edged with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

Age Awareness

Posted on

Today’s 2-4-Tuesday is the Age Awareness Stamp Set from the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog. When I first saw this set I just knew I had to have it. Of course,  sitting there this morning with it, well, my mind was… blank!

Fortunately the courier arrived just at the same time with another box of goodies from Stampin’ Up! which included the wonderful Filigree Frame Textured Impression Embossing Folder.

WOW, this is going to quickly become my “go-to” for a quick card as it creates such a beautiful effect, requiring little else besides a sentiment and perhaps an embellishment or two.

Age Awareness - Thanks Facebook - JIF

This next card was the result of a total accident. I’d actually punched some Petite Petals from the Sweet Taffy DSP for the previous card before realizing if I wanted to give it to a male, well, flowers weren’t going to cut it. Hence the Silver Glimmer Paper stars cut from the Star Framelits.

Looking at the DSP I wished I hadn’t punched the flowers thus began attempting to “replace” the flowers. Didn’t take long to conclude this was NOT going to work but could in-fact work for me in another way.

Age Awareness - Sweet Taffy - JIF

The flowers were then each finished off with a silver sequin from the Frosted Sequins available now in the Holiday Catty with a small Rhinestone Basic Jewel in its center to complete it. I couldn’t resist then adding more bling to the left-hand corner of the card!

Pictogram Punches

Posted on

When the new catalog came out I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the Pictogram Punches Stamp Set on page 89. It was a slow start but eventually the wheels began turning and I began creating. This was my first card using the colors Pacific Point and Soft Sky as a border all with a hint of silver.

Pictogram - Stars and Moon - JIF

After such a clean card I needed more color so created this one. For the vase I used Stampin’ Markers but I wasn’t happy with the strength of color in the vase so “touched it up” with the Not Quite Navy Blendability. Note to self: use LIGHT colors FIRST not the dark! The “thanks” sentiment is from the Oh My Goodies Stamp Set.

Pictogram - Pink Flowers - JIF

This next card came together all by itself. The What’s Up Punch providing the large Red Glimmer Arrows on either side of the I {heart} U sentiment.

Chalk Talk Abloom Mojo!

Posted on

This Summer Vacation has been one of our best but it’s playing havoc with my schedule. Seriously, I often don’t know what day of the week it, with one day slipping into another, oops! So finally, here is my card for this week’s Mojo Monday.

Mojo357 - Chalk Talk Abloom - JIF

Here is the sketch. This week’s sketch I thought was going to be SOOO easy but once I began assembling the card it proved much harder and took MUCH longer than I thought (and hoped)! DSP from the All Abloom DSP Stack was my spring-board.

Mojo 357 Sketch

I was determined to use the new Dotty Angles Photopolymer Stamp Set and for same strange, strange reason challenged myself to use the heat and stick powder with it for the background. It gives the right effect when combined with Dazzling Diamonds but I still need to practice with it… a LOT, lol!

Mojo357 - Chalk Talk Abloom - Dazzling Details - JIF

The leaves are from the new Flower Fair Framelit Set. In hindsight I wish I’d used the co-ordinating stamp from the Flower Shop Stamp Set to stamp over it – next time. The butterfly was made from two Butterfly Punches – the Elegant Butterfly in Silver Foil Paper, the Bitty Butterfly in Silver Glimmer Paper.

Mojo357 - Chalk Talk Abloom - Layered Butterfly - JIF

The sentiment is from the Chalk Talk Stamp Set and cut with the co-ordinating Chalk Talk Framelit. I stamped it with Melon Mambo Classic Ink onto  Shimmery White Cardstock which you can just see coming through the pink. Noice! The Silver 5/8″ Satin Ribbon was doubled over then adhered JUST under the cardstock, then tied off with some 1/8″ Silver Ribbon. All the ends of the ribbon have double-sided tape on it assuring they stay in place.
