Springtime Hello

Posted on

From the Spring Catalog one of my favorite “go-to” sets would have to be the Springtime Hello Stamp Set. Seriously, it’s a tiny set but packs quite the delicate punch.

Even with Crumb Cake on the background of Whisper White Cardstock, this set is impressive. Although scanning my cards instead photographing them has done them no favors today, my apologies.

From something quite demur to something quite bold with the Bermuda Bay Cardstock, the Springtime Hello Stamp Set really works.

The Springtime Hello stamp set works beautifully also with the Sale-a-Bration Sweet Sorbet DSP and Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack as you can see.

Now don’t forget, we’re onto the final countdown for Sale-a-Bration 2014 so if there’s any items you need, now is a fabulous time to stock up as for EVERY $60 you spend, you get to choose something from the Sale-a-Bration 2014 Catalog.  🙂

Layering Technique!

Posted on

In the lead-up to a workshop last month, I was mulling over ideas for the Make & Take – that’s the “hands-on” project the hostess and all her guests get to make themselves. A few things fluttered past my possibility-tray until a vague memory slipped in from a previous workshop where the “layering” technique was mentioned. Light bulb moment!

This was the Make & Take card we did with the Springtime Hello Stamp Set complete with envelope and matching envelope liner!

Springtime Hello Layered

If you’ve never attempted a 3-Layered Card before these are the measurements we used. The additional ¼” for each of the matting might seem excessive but its necessary to cover any “missed-stamping” that occurs when stamping on the layered bases. The bottom mat is actually the base card which you score down the center for your card obviously, lol!

3-Layered Card Dimensions

For something a little different I did a skewed card with the The Open Sea Stamp Set with FOUR layers. Basically I cut the bases the size required then cut the mats ⅛” larger. If you look close enough to the card you will see gaps in some areas around the matting. This is when you appreciate the additional ¼”.

The Open Sea Layered

I love this stamp set, The Open Sea. Someone on Pinterest used this stamp set on one of the Kraft Boxes – it looked BRILLIANT. Would work well with a Father’s Day gift!

Perhaps we can do it at YOUR workshop as a Make & Take – remember you only need 2 or 3 friends to attend. There are no workshop dates left for March but there are a couple of dates available still for April. Call me soon to book your workshop to avoid disappointment – 250-632-7248!
