Lovin’ the Smooch Spritz!!!

Posted on

It’s not that I want to do but I really think I have to admit defeat on my Mojo Monday’s actually happening on a Monday! Yes, I know, for my own peace of mind I always back-date my blog so it shows Monday’s date but more often my Mojo happens on a Wednesday. I know I should accept this but for whatever reason, I’m not yet ready to accept it just yet. I’ll give it just one more week!

In the meantime however this is this weeks Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo 319 SketchAnd here is my interpretation. Very quick, yet quite effective don’t you think? I’ve used a Whisper White card base and onto that have adhered Crumb Cake Cardstock but not before I gave it a good spritz with the Smooch. Ooooo, how I’m lovin’ the Smooch! I even spritzed the doily after I’d lightly sponged the edges with Crumb Cake Ink. And I’m not sure if you can see it, but I’ve also stamped stars onto the doily with the Illumination Glimmer Watermark Ink.

I punched a circle from one of Season of Style Designer Journaling Tags then ran the thick end of a Cherry Cobbler Marker around its edges before adding some Dazzling Diamonds. A ribbon of paper was cut from the Season of Style DSP Stack and before I added the ribbon of Season of Style Washi Tape which I mounted onto Whisper White cardstock to ensure its colors would pop!

Old World Gifts of Kindness

Posted on

It hasn’t been my intention to continually use the Soho Subway DSP but it certainly has become that way though hasn’t it? On this card I have chosen yet another design of this range to punch out hexagons.

Old World Gifts of Kindness

At the top of the card I used some sticky strip to create a ruffle appearance with the beautiful Very Vanilla 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon (more has been ordered so if you forgot or missed out with the first allotment, email me today…), adding some Large Pearl Basic Jewels for some extra ompf!

Very Vanilla Seam Ribbon with Pearls

Then onto the sponged and arranged hexagons I’ve layered (surprise!) the Very Vanilla cardstock onto Early Espresso which I’ve then trimmed with Crisp Cantaloupe 3/8″ Ruffle Stretch Trim. This ribbon ties into the layers on the base card which is Natural Ivory then is layered with Early Espresso, Crisp Cantaloupe with the Very Vanilla cardstock on top!

Crisp Cantaloupe Ribbon

The stamp of the teapot and flowers came from the Tea Party stamp set and was stamped in Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink. The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso from the Gifts of Kindness stamp set (yes, another of my current favorites for sentiments…)!

Oh Hello all that Glitters!

Posted on

Oh my, I look at this card now and I feel like that Swedish cook from the Muppet’s who was always saying “layer upon layer upon layer”, or was that an old Australian television commercial I was thinking of? Either way, when I look at this card now all I see are layers!

Whisper White base with a Black layer to border what was once  a Whisper White pieces of cardstock until I spritzed it with Rich Razzleberry. Isn’t it incredible how it dilutes to a gorgeous soft pink? Onto this I’ve then spritzed some of the Vanilla Shimmer (page 164 – check it out!).

Oh Hello you Primrose Petal Rose you!

Then to these layers I’ve added two different sets of layers. The first being the stamped rose in Primrose Petal from the Oh Hello stamp set which had just the smallest amount of Dazzling Diamonds glued to the petal edges. The edges of the Whisper White cardstock have been inked directly from the sponge pad before being adhered to a border of Basic Gray on top of the Black. Pearl jewels adding a smidge of elegance.

Then to each edge of a strip of Sliver Glimmer Paper (page 156 – my current favorite!) I’ve used Strawberry Slush 3/8″ Ruffle Stretch Trim and a Large Pearl Jewel on either edge. So simple yet effective!

OOh hello you glittery thing!

A very girlie card so perhaps having loads of layers then is apt… perhaps!

Last minute birthday!

Posted on

Yes, there’s nothing quite like a last-minute birthday party announcement. I fear Master Eleven was in-fact advised of this event earlier in the week but decided to only advise me only the day prior, at which point he wasn’t interested so the said information was immediately released from my advice-vault. What can I say, if it doesn’t involve me I say… “catch and release“!

Anyways, that was the “day before” wasn’t it? The day of the event at 3pm it was decided he’d go for the intended start time of 6pm but only stay until 10pm at which time I would be required to collect him. Fine… one last-minute card and gift coming up… grrrr, children, grrrr 🙂 This is what eventuated and fortunately, I promised myself at the time that next month, next week, I would leave this particular DSP alone and I now I have!

Anyways… for a last-minute card I think I did okay don’t you?!

Shapes and Numbers

I tell you, I’m lovin’ this new hexagon punch, so much so I’ve now gone through the new Annual Catalog and found every matching stamp-set and ordered them… yikes! As this hexagon stamp felt a tad girlie I used another stamp and punch to cover some of the sentiment for a more masculine feel.

Shapes and Numbers - Sentiment

And for the “you” I made a letter “U” from the XL and L Oval stamps, added Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhered over the top of some of the fabulous Washi Tape which just happened to have a HEXAGON pattern on it, yea baby!

Shapes and Numbers - U

Postage Due!

Posted on

Today’s card is was inspired by the last of my Mustard and Not Quite Navy card-stock, both of which are being retired at the end of this week/month.

Inkee Fiddlings - Postage Due - Mustard Not Quite Navy

The combination of these two colors has always been a favorite of mine. The Night Quite Navy was run through the Big Shot to give it some depth. Added to this is the also retiring but also favorite stamp set, Postage Due, cut with the Labels Collection Framelits just adds to it all!

Inkee Fiddlings - Apothecary Art - Mustard Not Quite Navy

The die-cuts and the circle punch each have Stampin’ Dimensionals added to them. Each layer has had the colors alternated on them to carry the effect through.

Inkee Fiddlings - Apothecary Art - Mustard Not Quite Navy Die-Cuts

The 7/16″ Trim Ribbon finishes the card off nicely I think.

Card Recipe
Card-stock: Mustard, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White
Stamp Sets: Postage Due, Apothecary Art
Inks: Not Quite Navy, Mustard
Embellishments: Basic Pearl Jewels, 7/16″ Ribbon
Tools: Big Shot, Labels Collection Framelits, Sticky Strip,
Sponges, Not Quite Navy & Mustard Markers, Stampin’ Dimensionals,
Stripes Embossing Folder, 1″ Circle Punch
