Ornamental Pines

Posted on

The Ornamental Pines Stamp Set is today’s 2-4-Tuesday stamp set.

For this first card I tried to push myself away from the traditional Christmas colors using Strawberry Slush Cardstock and Pool Party Cardstock instead as my frames around the Silver Heat-Embossed stamp on the Whisper White Cardstock.

I added a strip of Silver Foil Paper which I punched with Confetti Stars. Over the half-way mark of this punching I’ve adhered with Stampin Dimensionals a sentiment stamped on Pool Party Cardstock in Pool Party Classic Ink from the Merry Everything Stamp Set then punched with the Note Tag Punch.

As tempting as it was to emboss the pine-needles again for this second card I resisted the urge, choosing instead to only Silver Heat-Emboss the pine-cones onto the Always Artichoke Classic Ink stamped needles.

A Silver Glimmer Paper strip edged either side with 1/8″ Real Red Ribbon really popped against the background of Very Vanilla Cardstock. The sentiment was die-cut from the Window Frames Collection Framelits then edged with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

All is Calm when Quick and Easy

For today’s card the dry-embossed Filigree Frame in Coastal Cabana sitting on my desk was my starting point.

I was then determined to use the All is Calm Designer Washi Tape along with the Tree Punch. Silver Foil Stars left over from yesterday’s card along with a sentiment stamped in Coastal Cabana Classic Ink was added. A light sponge of Silver Metallic Ink was the final touch.

Santa Stache

Posted on

After all the fun I had creating the tree ornaments with the Santa Stache Stamp Set last week, I’ve chosen it for this week’s 2-4-Tuesday cards.

Santa was my first choice and I couldn’t resist using snowflakes from the Under the Tree Specialty DSP (I wish I could buy a dozen sheets of JUST this) as his background, with red snowflakes from the Trim the Tree DSP Stack under those with Old Olive Cardstock as the final border.

Initially I die-cut just the Mustache Framelit from the Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Paper but I couldn’t stop there. I then punched a scallop circle of Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Paper for Santa’s beard!

For the next card I went with more snowflakes from the Trim the Tree DSP Stack for under the Nutcracker but I also stamped “nutty or nice” over the Baked Brown Sugar Cardstock background. This card also gave me the opportunity to use the All is Calm Snowflake Embellishments as charms!

Santa’s Stache

Posted on

Today I’ve turned the Gift Card Envelope into ornaments for the Christmas Tree. For both ornaments I used the same design but changed up the color schemes slightly. The finishing touch was coating them both in Crystal Effects to give them the same epoxy effect found on stickers.

Onto a Melon Mambo Cardstock base, snowflakes were heat-embossed from the gorgeous Endless Wishes Stamp Set. The Nutcracker obviously from the fun Santa Stache Stamp Set with Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper used to die-cut the Mustache Framelit.

For a more masculine look I chose Real Read Cardstock as the base. Onto the Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Paper I used the lightest Smoky Slate Blendabilities to match the Smoky Slate I used on the Nutcracker’s hair and eye-brows. Both Nutcrackers were colored using the Blendabilities.

Making Spirits Bright

Posted on

Today’s 2-4-Tuesday is the Making Spirits Bright Stamp Set – a fun set for all occasions. Today I tried hard NOT to go for the obvious of Christmas, almost!

The first card with a little help from the Moonlight DSP Stack and the Deco Labels Collection Framelits created a birthday card.

For the second card and with the same framelits I created another frame of sorts. With the help of the Trim the Tree DSP Stack and two beautiful ribbons – 1/8″ Gold Ribbon and Real Red 3/8″ Satin Woven Ribbon – and some knotted Baker’s Twine, it was a thank you card with a twist!
