What’s Up?!

from STAMPIN’ UP! BLOG – April 1

Stampin’ Up! carries some wonderful tools.

Whats up punch with stamps

Punches have always been a quick way to add detail and to cut out stamped images.

Whats up watercolor

The What’s Up Punch (item # 133781) is a great example; it has stamp coordination, but it works well on its own, too.

Whats up golden arrows
We’ve made some sample cards to show you different ways to use it. Enjoy!

Pictogram Punches

Posted on

When the new catalog came out I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the Pictogram Punches Stamp Set on page 89. It was a slow start but eventually the wheels began turning and I began creating. This was my first card using the colors Pacific Point and Soft Sky as a border all with a hint of silver.

After such a clean card I needed more color so created this one. For the vase I used Stampin’ Markers but I wasn’t happy with the strength of color in the vase so “touched it up” with the Not Quite Navy Blendability. Note to self: use LIGHT colors FIRST not the dark! The “thanks” sentiment is from the Oh My Goodies Stamp Set.

This next card came together all by itself. The What’s Up Punch providing the large Red Glimmer Arrows on either side of the I {heart} U sentiment.

Mirrored Love – Just Sayin’!

Posted on

Sometimes all we need is a nudge to get going and when it comes to card making what better place to get that nudge than the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog!

That’s what I did for the Just Sayin’ Stamp Set. So often I look at this stamp set and all I see are word bubbles on cartoons so I turned to page 109 for inspiration and a little CASE’n.

My first card was a lot of fun to make as I used a LOT of different elements on it. From the Word Bubble Framelits, the Hearts Collection Framelits, and the Deco Labels Collection Framelits. Then there was the What’s Up Punch and the Heart Punch from the Itty Bitty Accents (IBA) Punch Pack.

As I used the Silver Foil Heart Vellum as the background, where in the catalog gold Washi Tape had been used, I used a stamp from the Tape It Stamp Set in Smoky Slate Classic Ink. A combination of Silver Foil Paper and Brushed Silver Cardstock created the “mirror”.

It was so much easier having a basis for the card I couldn’t help myself but CASE another card from that same page. I really like my interpretation of this card!
