Hair Bows for Little Ones…

Posted on

With three little girls, you won’t be surprised to hear that at our house, we have quite the hair bow collection. What may shock you is that even with bunches of bows, we don’t always have quite the right bow in the right color to match a particular outfit.

When the 2015 occasions catalog came out and I caught sight of the Bow Builder Punch (item # 137414), my heart skipped a beat. How adorable! I fell in love with those tiny bows and began to think of a million ways to use them.

One of my daughters asked me if I could make a bow for her because she thought they were so cute. Then it hit me . . . those tiny bows are the perfect size to clip to a little girl’s hair. And they’re so easy to whip up! You could make one using any style and color of paper to match any outfit!

Start by assembling the bow. I like to use Fast Fuse Adhesive (item # 129026) to keep the center of the bow from getting too thick. Next, hot glue the bow to the hair clip of your choice. You might choose to glue the pin vertically or horizontally to the back of the bow (depending on how you plan to secure the bow to her hair).

After making a few bows out of some of my favorite Stampin’ Up! colors, I decided to make sparkly bows, as well. I know . . . you’re not supposed to use punches with Glimmer Paper (item # 135315 and #133719) but I had to break the rules just this once! I couldn’t resist!

I also made a few bows using the Birthday Bash Designer Washi Sheets (item # 137788) in colors that are perfect for summer. You’ll want to cut a small rectangle out of the washi sheet, peel off the back, and carefully adhere it to a piece of Whisper White Cardstock (item # 100730); then go ahead and punch out your bow.

Lotus Blossom (SAB)

Posted on

Of all the stamp sets in this year’s Sale-a-Bration Catalog, this set is the most popular by far. And why not? The Lotus Blossom Stamp Set is not only beautiful but just so versatile.

The first I used with the Calypso Coral colors to challenge myself by stepping right out of my comfort zone, teaming it with the Bow Builder Punch found on page 13 of the Occasions Catalog.

Having challenged myself I then rewarded myself by using my pinks – Melon Mambo and Pink Pirouette. Finishing it with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter and a Something Borrowed Embellishment on page 42 then framing it all with Old Olive Cardstock.

Isn’t it the Lotus Blossom a beautiful stamp set and so worth spending $60 – think embellishments, ribbons and glitter – to earn it as a free product during Sale-a-Bration 2015.
