Mingle All The Way

Posted on

Today’s 2-4-Tuesday is another from the Holiday Catty – Mingle All The Way Stamp Set. When you hear the name you immediately think of Christmas parties but today I chose two events occurring this month – Thanksgiving and Halloween. As much as I can’t believe I’m saying this but we’ll save Christmas for another time, lol!

The first card is my cryptic version of a turkey. I know I’ve said this before but I have to say I’m lovin’ how the Blendabilities Pens color the Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Mingle all the Way - Thanksgiving Feathers - JIF

For my Halloween card instead of the Pumpkin Pie Cardstock of above I used the Tangelo Twist Cardstock with the Filigree Embossing Folder . And just for a change I used some Pear Pizzazz Cardstock as my card base with some Back to Black DSP. The eyes are from a Word Window Punch cut in half and Basic Black Cardstock 1/4″ punched circle added.

Ray of Sunshine!

When I first saw this stamp set I couldn’t get my hands on it quick enough. Then it arrived. I circled it. I continued to circle it. I circled it some more. This week I finally stopped circling it.

My problem is that I cannot, and I mean CANNOT, associate the sun with any color other than yellow and as I’m not the most “yellow” of people, I find it difficult to work with this color (yellow and green should never be seen – is this an actual saying as it seems to apply to me, a LOT!).

Here is what I finally achieved. Note: all circles are YELLOW… ha!

Ray of Sunshine - Bloom of Hope - JIFTo be honest I actually like this card. The flower from Bloom with Hope Stamp Set has been colored with the new Melon Mambo Blendabilities which shall be available for purchase in TEN days (August 1st).

For this next card having chosen So Saffron and Tangelo Twist Cardstock, I then used those two colors in Classic Ink with a Gorgeous Grunge Stamp to create some depth to the Whisper White Cardstock background.

Ray of Sunshine - You ARE my sunshine - JIFThis third and final card has become a favorite of mine thanks to the A Happy Hooray Stamp Set. I’ve yet to decide if the image I’ve used as the background in Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink is a feather or a leaf skeleton, whichever it is, I LIKE IT! 🙂

Mojo with a Tangelo Twist!

Posted on

Oh yeah, Mojo Monday gave us one of THOSE cards again. You know the one, Tall and Skinny, oh how I despise it but I now have a new challenger in the house spurring me on, Girl Child. I say, bring it on! This is my card.

MojoSketch352 - Tangelo Twist - JIFThis is the sketch this week from Mojo Monday.

MojoSketch352The base for my card today is Natural Ivory Cardstock. I don’t have many opportunities to utilize this cardstock but today I wanted to use the Tangelo Twist Cardstock which just happened to work beautifully with it.

The only stamp set I used was the magical Work of Art Stamp Set. As you can see I was able to create four different backgrounds from it simply using the Tangelo Twist Classic Ink. PLUS it has the most delightful sentiment – talk about value for money!
