Summer Silhouettes Background!

The easiest way to create a new background is to select a stamp and after inking, off-stamp it, before stamping over your background. Stamping randomly or symmetrically is up to you!

In this instance adding a little Watercolor Wonder DSP then making the sentiment from Delightful Dozen Stamp Set (retiring soon) the focal point. Add a little bling and some ribbon and voila!

Simple Stems Trio!

One of the challenges I set myself at the crop over the week-end was to do three cards using the beautiful Simple Stems Stamp Set found in the Celebrate the Everyday Catty. With seven stamps in the set it wasn’t going to be a difficult challenge, lol!

For the first card Calypso Coral Cardstock and Smoky Slate Cardstock were used as my layers to highlight the Silver Heat Embossing and the Watercolor Wonder DSP.

My last card came together quite by accident. The “L” layout I already had in my mind but it just wasn’t coming together Friday night so went home to sleep on it. Just as slumber was about to wash over me so did inspiration, this being the end result. Oh, how I’m going to miss Primrose Petals, sniff sniff, which I stamped the flower three times in then fussy cut each one then layered them on top of each other with dimensionals!

Simple Stems - Sending Good Thoughts - JIFAs you can see, the Simple Stems Stamp Set is a brilliantly adaptable stamp set, great as part of one’s stash! 🙂

Hexagons and Watercolors!

On receiving my very first order from the Spring Catty (aka Occasions Catty, lol 🙂 ) this was the very first card I made from all the new goodies!

I don’t know what it was but I was so drawn to the Hexagon Hive Thinlits Die – hopefully after Spring Break I’ll have a change to create more – combine this with a sheet from the gorgeous Watercolor Wonder DSP to go underneath the die-cut and you have yourself an instant hit!

And if you’re wondering about the interesting way I’ve aligned my Basic Rhinestone Jewels welllll, being the first time I’d used this die I wasn’t as “careful” as I could have been removing the Island Indigo Cardstock from the die, consequently ripping the entirety in two. Hence the rhinestone placement to cover the rips, lol! 🙂
