Peachy Keen Trio!

Posted on

This Peachy Keen Stamp Set was one I really had to sneak up on as I wasn’t too sure about it but it was cheaper to buy in the bundle along with the On Film Framelits Dies (WHICH I LOVE), and who doesn’t like a bargain, hence I have the stamp set.

With the assistance of the soon-to-retire 2012-2014 In-Colors, here’s what I came up with and remember the In-Color Dahlias will be retiring also!

Peachy Keen - Summer Friend - JIFGreen has NEVER really been my color but stamped with the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set then paired with the Early Espresso Cardstock, sponged with a little Gold Encore Ink, framed with a hint of Midnight Muse Cardstock it really does look smart.

Peachy Keen - Gumball Green Gold - JIFThis next card involves more, and then some, of my rainbow colors but in a style I’ve often admired but never attempted. This style does have a name which eludes me just at the moment but check out how effective it is. Especially when teamed with Gold Foil Paper!

Peachy Keen - Jagged Rainbows - JIFContact me today (250-632-7248) if you’d like to order any of these products for your own projects or to arrange hosting your own party celebrating the wonderful new Annual Catalog!

Peachy Keen Mojo

Posted on

I’m admitting defeat NOW on today’s Mojo Monday since time is not my own this Spring Break. Instead this is a Mojo Monday that I did but never posted back in January. I know, VERY odd but true! Here was the sketch…

Mojo 329 SketchThis is my card…

Mojo 329 - Peachy Keen - JIF

To a background from the Fresh Prints DSP Stack, Baked Brown Sugar Cardstock and Coastal Cabana Cardstock were added. Onto the Coastal Cabana Cardstock was stamped repeatedly the strip of squares from the Peachy Keen Stamp Set with two strips of Baked Brown Sugar 3/8″ Ruffle Stretch Ribbon adhered.

Mojo 329 - Background - JIFThe embellishments were a lot of fun using two of the hearts from the Essential Wooden Elements and a die-cut camera from the On Film Framelits Dies which I lightly sponged over to emphasize the scored design of the card. Too cute!

Open Sea Thank You!

Posted on

Recently as you may or may not know, I had a VERY unexpected trip where I was blessed with MANY people helping me make it possible. Embarrassingly I’ve only JUST completed thank you cards for them all as I wanted a card that would show how much I appreciated their time and efforts.

These cards also gave me an opportunity to attempt various techniques for backgrounds that I’ve wanted to try for the longest time. White Gloss Cardstock always highlights these techniques best but as you can see, Whisper White Cardstock works just fine! So grab a coffee and let me walk you through what I created…

On the first card I used felt I’d cut down to fit onto the Stampin’ Sanding System instead of the sandpaper. The felt was then drenched in some Rubbing Alcohol bought at the supermarket. Drops were then quickly put onto the felt from the Summer Starfruit and Soft Sky Ink Refills then dabbed randomly over the cardstock creating this mishmash of blended colors.

From the Spring Catalog I chose three arrows from the  Essentials Wooden Elements which I pushed together and stamped in Early Espresso Classic Ink with the globe stamp from The Open Sea Stamp Set. In retrospect I should have chosen a less busy section of the stamp as if you didn’t know there was a picture of the world on it, it would look just a smidge murky, lol.

Also on this card from the Spring Catalog I’ve used the negative framelit from the On Film Framelits Dies and the Basic Metal Buttons which have been tied off with some Early Espresso Bakers Twine. The ruffles were made with Soft Sky 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon. A little Gorgeous Grunge in Early Espresso Classic Ink finished off the embellishing on Crumb Cake Cardstock. The sentiment stamped on Soft Sky Cardstock was from Delightful Dozen.

Tallinn - Ruffled RibbonFor this next card’s background the Summer Starfruit Classic Ink overtook the Marina Mist Classic Ink I used but I’m still happy with the results but this time instead of dripping ink onto felt I swiped the ink over the Silicone Craft Sheet, ensuring the colors were very close but now touching, then squirted water onto the Craft Sheet until it beaded.

Over this I gently placed the background cardstock and kept placing it onto the color bead until the cardstock was totally covered, then placed it wet side down onto a towel to help take some of the moisture out of the cardstock. To speed up the drying process I also used my Stampin’ Heat Tool.

To this background I used The Open Sea Stamp Set in Crumb Cake Classic Ink which I’d stamped off before stamping onto the dried cardstock. The “woo hoo” came from the Just Sayin’ Stamp Set in the Spring Catalog, as did the camera from the On Film Framelits Dies which was finished off with a Large Pearl Basic Jewel for the lense.

Tallinn - Soft SkyFor the final card I swiped Marina Mist Classic Ink and Summer Starfruit Classic Ink onto the Silicone Craft Sheet but this time I did a swipe of the Marina Mist Classic Ink above and below the Summer Starfruit Classic Ink. Onto this once dried I used the “blob” stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set in Island Indigo to finish off the mishmash look. Just a “peek” of Red Glitter Pepper completing the card.

Tallinn - Summer StarfruitCARD RECIPE
Cardstock: Whisper White, Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake
Stamp Sets: Just Sayin’, Gorgeous Grunge, The Open Sea, Delightful Dozen
Classic Inks: Summer Starfruit, Marina Mist, Island Indigo, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake
Big Shot: On Film Framelits Dies
Punch: 3/16″ Corner
Ribbon: Early Espresso Bakers Twine, Soft Sky 1/2″ Seam Binding
Embellishments: Large & Pearl Basic Jewels, Red Glitter Paper,
Hung Up Cute Clips, Essentials Wooden Elements, Basic Metal Buttons
Essentials: Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips, Sticky Strip, Stampin’ Spritzer,
Stampin’ Scrub & Mist, Silicone Craft Sheet, Sponge, Stampin’ Dimensionals
+ old towel

Happy New Year!

Posted on

Oh. My. Gosh. I know it gets busy leading up to, and over Christmas and New Year’s, but seriously, given how we’d planned something fairly “low-key”, I wasn’t expecting time to whiz by as it did. So here I am, almost the END of January, and I’m only now saying… Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I do so hope you had a wonderful time however you may have celebrated 😉

Now back to creating… it’s Monday which means… MOJO MONDAY! This week the ladies are trying something different over at the MOJO blog with the card shape – this week its tall and skinny like me, so NOT! This is it…

Mojo Monday Sketch 330This is my take on the card using some of the wonderful new products from the Spring Catalog, along with a couple from Sale-a-Bration which commences in just a few short hours!

Mojo Monday 330 - Thank You TallinnMy card size is 3.5″x5.5″ and is a flip top for a change. The base of my card is Naturals Ivory. Onto this I’ve used some beautiful Sweet Sorbet DSP and run a piece of Naturals Ivory through with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, both of which can be yours FREE with every $60 you spend through until March 31 courtesy of Sale-a-Bration 2014!

Mojo330 - On-Film Framelits Die - JIFThen as I’ve made this card as a thank you to the couple who moved into our house to look after the cats and kids whilst Hubby and I were away a couple of weeks ago, from the Spring Catalog I’ve used one of the dies from the On Film set in Early Espresso to aptly frame a photo I took whilst in Tallinn.

This is layered on top of a strip of Crumb Cake that I’ve stamped with the Gorgeous Grunge again in Early Espresso. The ribbon is the beautiful 1/2″ Seam Binding in Daffodil Delight to pick up the subtle yellow in the DSP.

Mojo330 - Essentials Wooden Elements - JIFAs an embellishment I’ve stamped directly onto one of the Essentials Wooden Elements from the Spring Catalog with Early Espresso Classic Ink, sponging the edges with both the Pistachio Pudding and Baked Brown Sugar, adhering it with some Sticky Strip. Talking of sponging, I also sponged the edges of the DSP and embossed strip before adhering it to the base.
