Making Spirits Bright

Posted on

Another fun and versatile stamp set for today’s 2-4-Tuesday is the Making Spirits Bright Stamp Set.

For the first card I used the Brushed Silver Cardstock as the base with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. Real Read 3/8″ Satin Woven Ribbon adds a little pop against the All is Calm Specialty DSP. Blendabilites, Rhinestone Basic Jewels and Dazzling Diamond Glitter adding the final touch.

The second card is for New Year’s Eve but could easily be substituted for an Anniversary Card or a Valentine’s Day Card. The ribbons and the Dazzling Diamond Glitter adding the final touches.

Pictogram Punches

Posted on

When the new catalog came out I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the Pictogram Punches Stamp Set on page 89. It was a slow start but eventually the wheels began turning and I began creating. This was my first card using the colors Pacific Point and Soft Sky as a border all with a hint of silver.

Pictogram - Stars and Moon - JIF

After such a clean card I needed more color so created this one. For the vase I used Stampin’ Markers but I wasn’t happy with the strength of color in the vase so “touched it up” with the Not Quite Navy Blendability. Note to self: use LIGHT colors FIRST not the dark! The “thanks” sentiment is from the Oh My Goodies Stamp Set.

Pictogram - Pink Flowers - JIF

This next card came together all by itself. The What’s Up Punch providing the large Red Glimmer Arrows on either side of the I {heart} U sentiment.

Chalk Talk Abloom Mojo!

Posted on

This Summer Vacation has been one of our best but it’s playing havoc with my schedule. Seriously, I often don’t know what day of the week it, with one day slipping into another, oops! So finally, here is my card for this week’s Mojo Monday.

Mojo357 - Chalk Talk Abloom - JIF

Here is the sketch. This week’s sketch I thought was going to be SOOO easy but once I began assembling the card it proved much harder and took MUCH longer than I thought (and hoped)! DSP from the All Abloom DSP Stack was my spring-board.

Mojo 357 Sketch

I was determined to use the new Dotty Angles Photopolymer Stamp Set and for same strange, strange reason challenged myself to use the heat and stick powder with it for the background. It gives the right effect when combined with Dazzling Diamonds but I still need to practice with it… a LOT, lol!

Mojo357 - Chalk Talk Abloom - Dazzling Details - JIF

The leaves are from the new Flower Fair Framelit Set. In hindsight I wish I’d used the co-ordinating stamp from the Flower Shop Stamp Set to stamp over it – next time. The butterfly was made from two Butterfly Punches – the Elegant Butterfly in Silver Foil Paper, the Bitty Butterfly in Silver Glimmer Paper.

Mojo357 - Chalk Talk Abloom - Layered Butterfly - JIF

The sentiment is from the Chalk Talk Stamp Set and cut with the co-ordinating Chalk Talk Framelit. I stamped it with Melon Mambo Classic Ink onto  Shimmery White Cardstock which you can just see coming through the pink. Noice! The Silver 5/8″ Satin Ribbon was doubled over then adhered JUST under the cardstock, then tied off with some 1/8″ Silver Ribbon. All the ends of the ribbon have double-sided tape on it assuring they stay in place.

You’re Lovely in Pink!

Posted on

For a Fast Friday, it’s taking me longer to write this post than it did to make the card – what’s with THAT, lol?! Sadly, it really has become one of THOSE weeks. 🙁

Plus it would seem this week I’m in a very “pink” frame of mind. Not sure why, perhaps its a Ying/Yang thing, but after last week always reaching for the Bermuda Bay, this week I’m turning to pink. And if that’s not bad enough, I’ve CASE’d a card almost as exactly AS IS. Honestly, this seldom EVER happens with me. Habit has me changing most everything without even realizing it!

Are you familiar with this term – CASEing? Copy And Share Everything! It’s very acceptable in card-making although card etiquette does ask that credit is given where credit is due. In this CASE (pardon the pun but it had to be said, lol) it was Sharon Cheng, one VERY talented lady.

Now, without further ado here is MY card, lol!

Youre Lovely in Pink!

Talk about a great way to use up your scraps as all the colored cardstock came from my scrap-stash. Even the piece of White Vellum Cardstock came from my scraps. I love how this You’re Lovely stamp from the Sale-a-Bration selection compliments the Deco Labels Collections Dies.

Also, if you’re wanting to try this card yourself, the width of my strips from left to right were – 4cm, 3.5cm, 3cm and 2.5cm. The length is at your own discretion.

CARD RECIPE
Cardstock: Whisper White, Rose Red, Raspberry Ripple, Primrose Petals,
Strawberry Slush, Pink Pirouette
Stamp Set: You’re Lovely (Sale-a-Bration 2014)
Classic Ink: Melon Mambo
DSP: Gingham Garden
Framelits: Deco Labels Collection, Envelope Liners
Embossing Folder: Decorative Dots (Sale-a-Bration 2014)
Embellishments: Rhinestones Basic Jewels
Essentials: Paper Trimmer, Paper Snips, Big Shot, Sticky Strip,
Medium White Envelope, Stampin’ Dimensionals

With fresh snow falling outside I know I’M going to have a WONDERFULLY productive week-end – wishing you one also!

Oh, and have yourself an... Inkee Fiddling Day!
