Sweet Stuff for my birthday!

Posted on

How cute is the new Sweet Stuff Stamp Set (page 87)? and since I’m just “so sweet“, how appropriate to use this stamp set on my birthday, tee hee! 🙂

Here is MY card to ME, remembering my glory days of a six-year-old ballerina. Ah yes, good times, good times!

Sweet Stuff - Happy Birthday Cutie - JIF

When I see “bee happy” sadly I HAVE to do the obvious…

Sweet Stuff - Bee Happy - JIF

This next card was one of those cards that kept on giving. Initially it was just the center piece. Well, that seemed awfully dull so out came some Lullaby DSP which naturally required a border. The sentiment seemed lifeless so the bird flew in. Both it and the ice-creams were colored using Blendabilities. I did attempt coloring the sentiment with them also but the Pistachio Pudding Marker was what was needed.

Sweet Stuff - Ice Cream Cones - JIF

After the ice-creams were adhered I decided to use some Dazzling Details on them. Then seeing that had a matte finish when dried rather than a gloss I added some Liquid Crystal. The Pistachio Pudding Cardstock then seemed lifeless so with the heart from the Project Life Point & Click Stamp Set, I randomly stamped in Pistachio Pudding over it.

All Abloom with Hope

Posted on

Have you checked out the Bloom with Hope Hostess Stamp Set yet on page 240? It is fabulous with so many possibilities. Here are just three cards I made using this set this afternoon.

Bloom with Hope - All Abloom - JIF

I’ve promised myself that next week I will begin looking at my 12×12 DSP’s and give my DSP stacks a rest but when one scrapbooks one is hesitant in cutting into a big sheet, ouch! And as you may have noticed with the flower above, I still have a love/hate relationship going on with the Blendabilities, lol! 🙂

Bloom with Hope - Sympathy - JIF

For the next card I’ve used the leaf stamp to create a background, then kept the flower stamp rather plain that I adhered onto it. This image I stamped twice, colored with the Blendabilities then fussy-cut the two open flowers. Before adhering these flowers I gently shaped the petals up to give it a little more depth.

Bring on the Sunshine…

Posted on

Or should I be saying bring on the new catalog, I’m not sure but before the 2013-2014 IB&C goes live in a matter of hours, here’s one last card with products from the Spring Catty which will be finishing tomorrow night at midnight. So… bring on the sunshine!

Inkee Fiddlings - Bring on the Sunshine

Wow, the flash makes it look as if I’ve used a lot more Dazzling Details than I have! It’s only on the leaves and flower petals believe it or not. Isn’t the bird cute though? It’s a strip of DSP from the Birds of a Feather collection.Inkee Fiddlings - Bring on the Sunshine - Birds of a Feather

The card was seeming a little flat so I added one of the Designer Builder Brads to the center and to the center of that I’ve added Basic Pearl Jewels (uh-oh, and I thought I’d been using a lot of the butterflies lately...).

Only two days left on the Spring Catty and only a smidge longer on any retiring items you may want so be quick!

Inkee Fiddlings - Riding Hood Red - Thanks

This card base is from one of the retiring ten, Riding Hood Red and to this I’ve added a piece of Striped Embossed Riding Hood Red and some DSP from… Print Poetry DSP Stack. In the middle of the card I’ve added embossed Whisper White Card-stock trimmed with Scallop Trim Border in Basic Grey.

Inkee Fiddlings - Thanks So Much - Riding Hood Red

And what seems to be an essential of any of my cards lately, I’ve added a butterfly. This one I’ve made from the two butterflies punches, added pearls and Dazzling Details, and placed along side the two-tone grey ribbon.

Postage Due!

Posted on

Today’s card is was inspired by the last of my Mustard and Not Quite Navy card-stock, both of which are being retired at the end of this week/month.

Inkee Fiddlings - Postage Due - Mustard Not Quite Navy

The combination of these two colors has always been a favorite of mine. The Night Quite Navy was run through the Big Shot to give it some depth. Added to this is the also retiring but also favorite stamp set, Postage Due, cut with the Labels Collection Framelits just adds to it all!

Inkee Fiddlings - Apothecary Art - Mustard Not Quite Navy

The die-cuts and the circle punch each have Stampin’ Dimensionals added to them. Each layer has had the colors alternated on them to carry the effect through.

Inkee Fiddlings - Apothecary Art - Mustard Not Quite Navy Die-Cuts

The 7/16″ Trim Ribbon finishes the card off nicely I think.

Card Recipe
Card-stock: Mustard, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White
Stamp Sets: Postage Due, Apothecary Art
Inks: Not Quite Navy, Mustard
Embellishments: Basic Pearl Jewels, 7/16″ Ribbon
Tools: Big Shot, Labels Collection Framelits, Sticky Strip,
Sponges, Not Quite Navy & Mustard Markers, Stampin’ Dimensionals,
Stripes Embossing Folder, 1″ Circle Punch

Oh, and have yourself an... Inkee Fiddling Day!
