For All Things Mojo

Dang, I know I’ve used these colors before AND for a Mojo Monday but Blackberry Bliss and Smoky Slate are just SUCH a beautiful color combination. Here is my card for today’s Mojo Monday Challenge!

Mojo 364 - For All Things - JIF

And this was today’s Mojo Monday Sketch. As you can see, I chose to go portrait instead of horizontal and I just wasn’t “feelin’ ” it with the horizontal, lol! 🙂

Plus it looks as if I’ve shot myself in the foot as I had this set, For All Things Stamp Set, out on my desk as I need to design a Make and Take for an upcoming workshop. In retrospect perhaps I should have saved this card for that and made something else for today. Oh well!

This set always scares me for just the briefest of moments as I tend to forget the stamps have a very “linen” look about them. This gives a great effect which is particularly good for creating backgrounds as I did with the leaf, stamping in Smoky Slate Classic Ink onto Smoky Slate Cardstock.

The stamping under my leaves was one of those wonderful freakish things I hadn’t planned but worked to my advantage. Either I hadn’t cleaned, or hadn’t cleaned very well, this stamp from the last time I used it causing some of the Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink to blend with my Smoky Slate Classic Ink. Combined with the linen look of the stamp I’d say whatever happened, happened VERY well!

Negative Deco Labels Mojo

Another week, another MOJO MONDAY challenge. Here is my card for this week’s sketch.

Mojo 360 - Blackberry Bliss - JIFAnd here is this week’s sketch. Yeah, that “Tall & Skinny” seemed to have slipped by me when I created this card. I read it as it was printing but poof, never to be remembered again. Oops!

Mojo360Sketch

The card came about so quickly all because the “negative” piece of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock from a Deco Label Die-Cut was sitting on my table. From this all that was required as a pattern from the Moonlight DSP Stack and matching cardstock stamped in the same color with a stamp from Work of Art Stamp Set.

Onto a piece of Sahara Sand Cardstock the sentiment from the Remembering Your Birthday Stamp Set was stamped in Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink. The “YOU” I re-stamped, cut-out and placed a Stampin’ Dimensionals behind to give it a little more emphasis.

The finishing touch was some Gold Sequin Trim which I’ve become rather partial too. Three of the these sequins I glued to the top right-hand corner of the card.

Happy Umpteenth Mojo!

Wednesday, Monday, it’s all the same, it’s a day! So here I am, on a Wednesday, making my Monday card and posting it as if it’s Monday just to keep the routine, lol!

Here’s the card I’ve created for this week’s Mojo Monday Challenge.

Mojo359 - Happy Umpteenth Mojo - JIFThis is the Mojo Monday sketch if you haven’t already seen it.

Mojo 359 Sketch

On printing this sketch this morning I wasn’t anticipating any delays as lots of ideas were whirling around in my mind. Unfortunately the one thing NOT whirling around was the background that was going to be my starting point.

Three hours and three different backgrounds later I was finally underway with a pattern from the Park Lane DSP with the smallest border of Meadow Moss Cardstock. Onto this a pattern from the Moonlight DSP Stack. Onto that a small piece of Meadow Moss Cardstock which I stamped in Meadow Moss Classic Ink with a stamp from the Work of Art Stamp Set which I now wish I’d sponged.

Mojo359 - Happy Umpteenth Mojo - Work of Art - JIF

The sentiment came from the Oh My Goodies Stamp Set, stamped in Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink then die-cut with the Deco Label Collection. I cut another framelit in the larger size in Blackberry Bliss Cardstock for underneath. A small banner in Hello Honey Cardstock, lightly sponged in Hello Honey Classic Ink was also added. Ribbon in Blackberry Bliss was the final touch for this area.

To the top right-hand corner three Basic Rhinestones Jewels were added. These I colored with the darkest Old Olive Blendabilities.

All Abloom with Hope

Posted on

Have you checked out the Bloom with Hope Hostess Stamp Set yet on page 240? It is fabulous with so many possibilities. Here are just three cards I made using this set this afternoon.

Bloom with Hope - All Abloom - JIF

I’ve promised myself that next week I will begin looking at my 12×12 DSP’s and give my DSP stacks a rest but when one scrapbooks one is hesitant in cutting into a big sheet, ouch! And as you may have noticed with the flower above, I still have a love/hate relationship going on with the Blendabilities, lol! 🙂

Bloom with Hope - Sympathy - JIF

For the next card I’ve used the leaf stamp to create a background, then kept the flower stamp rather plain that I adhered onto it. This image I stamped twice, colored with the Blendabilities then fussy-cut the two open flowers. Before adhering these flowers I gently shaped the petals up to give it a little more depth.

Words Create a Background!

Posted on

The Dictionary Background Stamp would have to be a favorite of mine. Yes, I am aware I say that a lot but I’m fairly certain I don’t say that about EVERY stamp, lol!

Using the Dictionary Background Stamp and the new Blendabilities I had a lot of fun with the next three cards.

Dictionary - Just for You - JIF

This next card is background on background with the beautiful Pleasant Poppies Stamp. The border of the Blackberry Bliss Cardstock came about by accident. I cut out a Top Note Die Cut leaving this wonderful negative space which I almost threw out but something stopped me. So glad I kept it! 🙂

Dictionary - Poppies - JIF

For this next card I used my Aqua Painters instead of the Blendabilities for a much lighter effect. The card I CASE’d from the Annual Catalog using the Flower Shop Stamp Set with coordinating Pansy Punch.

Dictionary - Pansies - JIF

Doesn’t the Linen Thread give a subtle yet beautiful finish to the last two cards?! I also trialed the new Gold Pen on this card, noice!

I’m placing orders tonight so if there’s anything you require please let me know today and I’ll add yours and fingers-crossed we’ll have them here by the end of next week!

Oh, and have yourself an... Inkee Fiddling Day!
