Negative Deco Labels Mojo

Another week, another MOJO MONDAY challenge. Here is my card for this week’s sketch.

Mojo 360 - Blackberry Bliss - JIFAnd here is this week’s sketch. Yeah, that “Tall & Skinny” seemed to have slipped by me when I created this card. I read it as it was printing but poof, never to be remembered again. Oops!

Mojo360Sketch

The card came about so quickly all because the “negative” piece of Blackberry Bliss Cardstock from a Deco Label Die-Cut was sitting on my table. From this all that was required as a pattern from the Moonlight DSP Stack and matching cardstock stamped in the same color with a stamp from Work of Art Stamp Set.

Onto a piece of Sahara Sand Cardstock the sentiment from the Remembering Your Birthday Stamp Set was stamped in Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink. The “YOU” I re-stamped, cut-out and placed a Stampin’ Dimensionals behind to give it a little more emphasis.

The finishing touch was some Gold Sequin Trim which I’ve become rather partial too. Three of the these sequins I glued to the top right-hand corner of the card.

BIG NEWS is big news!

This is another of the stamp sets I couldn’t wait to get hold of when the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog was released, the Big News Stamp Set!

Coming up with ideas for cards was NOT difficult at all and with this first card I finally had an opportunity to use the cute new 2013-2015 In-Color Sequin Assortment. The Coastal Cabana Cardstock and Coastal Cabana Classic Ink against the white is so fresh. The Washi Tape is from the Everyday Adventure project Life Accessory Pack – gosh that’s a mouthful isn’t it, lol?!

Big News - Awesomeness - JIF

The next card is another clean card with the Silver Foil Paper as the base for the card with Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White and a little more silver! The sentiment was heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder. The Petite Petals Punch and Bitty Butterfly Punch adding the final touches when combined with Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Big News - Silver Happily Ever After - JIF

This last card was a LOT of fun! With the words BIG NEWS in the sentiment I couldn’t resist using the Typeset DSP. This DSP isn’t as thick as the regular sheets but don’t be fooled by its appearance, it’s not tissue-paper either (as my mind keeps telling me…).

The Something for Baby Stamp Set with co-ordinating Baby’s First Framelits in Hello Honey Classic Ink gives the card just what it needs. The pram was stamped first in Hello Honey Classic Ink then heat embossed with Clear Embossing Power to give it some luster. The sentiment I also heat embossed but in Early Espresso Embossing Powder.

Big News - Little Baby - JIF

This Big News Stamp Set is one of those stamp sets that can hold its own but at the same time be a “go-to” set for sentiments. Is Big News part of YOUR stash?

Ray of Sunshine!

Posted on

When I first saw this stamp set I couldn’t get my hands on it quick enough. Then it arrived. I circled it. I continued to circle it. I circled it some more. This week I finally stopped circling it.

My problem is that I cannot, and I mean CANNOT, associate the sun with any color other than yellow and as I’m not the most “yellow” of people, I find it difficult to work with this color (yellow and green should never be seen – is this an actual saying as it seems to apply to me, a LOT!).

Here is what I finally achieved. Note: all circles are YELLOW… ha!

Ray of Sunshine - Bloom of Hope - JIFTo be honest I actually like this card. The flower from Bloom with Hope Stamp Set has been colored with the new Melon Mambo Blendabilities which shall be available for purchase in TEN days (August 1st).

For this next card having chosen So Saffron and Tangelo Twist Cardstock, I then used those two colors in Classic Ink with a Gorgeous Grunge Stamp to create some depth to the Whisper White Cardstock background.

Ray of Sunshine - You ARE my sunshine - JIFThis third and final card has become a favorite of mine thanks to the A Happy Hooray Stamp Set. I’ve yet to decide if the image I’ve used as the background in Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink is a feather or a leaf skeleton, whichever it is, I LIKE IT! 🙂

Moonlight Lagoon Mojo Monday!

Posted on

As the saying goes… better late than never!

Here it is Saturday and it is only now that I have been able to choose the “right” sentiment for my Mojo Monday card for this week. Or as a good friend has now rechristened it, Mojito Monday – no guessing why we’re friends huh? Lol!

Here is my card using one of the Moonlight DSP’s as my base and my feature. The base with a thin border of Smoky Slate Cardstock and the side pieces with a thin border of 2014-2016 In-Color Hello Honey Cardstock. The center circles and sentiment are all with the new 2014-2016 In-Color Lost Lagoon, noice!

Mojo Monday 350 - Moonlight Lost Lagoon - JIF

And this is this week’s Mojo Sketch 350.

Mojo350Sketch

The new 2014-2016 In-Color Lost Lagoon worked brilliantly with these colors but looked a little bland against the patterns of the base. With the help of a little bling in the form of the small Basic Rhinestone Jewels to create a border (oh how I love those borders), a stamp from the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set, and some Silver 1/8″ Ribbon, all that was changed!

Mojo350 - Moonlight Lost Lagoon - Bling Embellishments - JIF

Trying to come up with an embellishment other than a flower did have me thinking for more than a few moments but the Triangle Punch, a carry-over from the Everyday Occasions Catty, quickly solved THAT problem. Two triangles placed at right-angles on top of two others created a wonderful “space-like” embellishment.

Work of Art

Posted on

Work of Art Stamp Set is one of those stamp sets that is going to be a lot of fun in the coming months!

Naturally though when it came to using it for the first time my mind when completely blank so what else is a girl meant to do but reach for her trusty Annual Catalog for something to CASE and this is what I found, lol! 🙂Work of Art - Fabulous - JIFThen, as I seem to be in a Monochromatic mood of late, I tried the same layout but in shades of pink. Have to say, this I REALLY liked! 🙂Work of Art - Hues of Pink - JIFThen, as I was still clutching my Moonlight DSP Stack and the 2014-2016 In-Colors in my hand (and I dare to wonder why my children become totally FIXATED with new belongings, lol), naturally this needed to be incorporated into a card. This was my end result. Not bright and colorful yet effective. Work of Art - Hello Honey - JIF

Now that I’ve FINALLY put the Moonlight DSP Stack onto the shelf, along with the 2014-2016 In-Colors, hopefully I can now shake off my fuzzy mind to begin creating some original cards. Stay tuned and fingers-crossed!

Oh, and FYI, if I begin referring to a color as HONEY MUSTARD, please know that I’m referring to the new In-Color of Hello Honey. For some reason that name isn’t sitting right with me so have unintentionally renamed it, oops!

Oh, and have yourself an... Inkee Fiddling Day!
