For All Things Mojo

Posted on

Dang, I know I’ve used these colors before AND for a Mojo Monday but Blackberry Bliss and Smoky Slate are just SUCH a beautiful color combination. Here is my card for today’s Mojo Monday Challenge!

And this was today’s Mojo Monday Sketch. As you can see, I chose to go portrait instead of horizontal and I just wasn’t “feelin’ ” it with the horizontal, lol! πŸ™‚

Plus it looks as if I’ve shot myself in the foot as I had this set, For All Things Stamp Set, out on my desk as I need to design a Make and Take for an upcoming workshop. In retrospect perhaps I should have saved this card for that and made something else for today. Oh well!

This set always scares me for just the briefest of moments as I tend to forget the stamps have a very “linen” look about them. This gives a great effect which is particularly good for creating backgrounds as I did with the leaf, stamping in Smoky Slate Classic Ink onto Smoky Slate Cardstock.

The stamping under my leaves was one of those wonderful freakish things I hadn’t planned but worked to my advantage. Either I hadn’t cleaned, or hadn’t cleaned very well, this stamp from the last time I used it causing some of the Blackberry Bliss Classic Ink to blend with my Smoky Slate Classic Ink. Combined with the linen look of the stamp I’d say whatever happened, happened VERY well!

Tag Talk Tuesday

Posted on

Today for 2-4-Tuesday I’ve chosen the Tag Talk Stamp Set. And as an added bonus, these stamps coordinate with the Label Punch.

My first card began as something completely different but I was determined to use some of the gorgeous All is Calm Designer Washi Tape. So with some of the Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, red ribbon and hearts combined with a silver heat-embossed stamp, this was the end result.

This next card is one of my favorites. For the longest time I’ve wanted to do something with the large Star Framelit and today was the day. The Maritime DSP providing the base and the embellishments with the flags and the checkered star!

Bermuda Bay Mojo

Posted on

Another Monday another Mojo Monday. Here is my card for this week’s challenge.

Mojo363 - Bermuda Bay - JIF

This is the sketch from Mojo Monday.

Mojo363Sketch

A pattern from the Confetti Celebration DSP was my starting point with Bermuda Bay Cardstock as the anchor at the bottom which I mistakenly didn’t stamp with Gorgeous Grunge in Bermuda Classic Ink until AFTER I’d adhered it. Yikes!

Silver Foil Paper was used with the Argyle Embossing Folder to give some dimension to it. The Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Paper SHOULD have been corner punched on all four corner but once again forgot to do this until AFTER I’d adhered it. Double yikes!

Mojo363 - Bermuda Bay - Argyle - JIF

Wondering what I could do and use as a sentiment, A Happy Hooray Stamp Set became the perfect choice with the round sentiment which was die-cut then edged in Dazzling Diamond Glitter. Underneath this sentiment is White 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon and 1/8″ Silver Ribbon.

Tickled Pink Mojo

Posted on

When I first saw this week’s Mojo Monday sketch I was a tad hesitant but on looking at it again today, oh my gosh, it took absolutely NO time at all. This is my card.

Mojo362 - Flamingo Lingo - JIF

This is the sketch.

Mojo 362 SketchFor something different for my background I chose Brushed Silver Cardstock which I embossed with the Decorative Dots Embossed Folder. Then onto my cut Whisper White Cardstock I heat embossed one of the stamps from the Flamingo Lingo Stamp Set.

Over this I sponged Melon Mambo Classic Ink then stamped the flamingo in Melon Mambo Classic Ink onto a banner of Whisper White Cardstock.

Mojo362 - Flamingo Lingo - Resist Embossing - JIF

After adhering this onto the Melon Mambo background I tied 1/8″ Silver Ribbon and 1/2″ Pink Pirouette Seam Binding Ribbon around the top then added the stamped banner Tickled Pink.

Mojo362 - Flamingo Lingo - Ribbons - JIF

CARD RECIPE
Cardstock: Whisper White, Brushed Silver
Stamp Set: Flamingo Lingo
Classic Ink: Melon Mambo
Framelits: Itty Bitty Banners
Ribbons: 1/8″ Silver, 1/2″ Pink Pirouette Seam Binding
Heat Embossing: Clear Embossing Powder, Versamark, Heat Gun
Embossing Folder: Decorative Dots

Stampin Dimensionals, Stampin Scrub and Mist

If you aren’t already aware Flamingo Lingo is this year’s Ronald McDonald House Stamp Set. So not only is it a super versatile stamp set but $3 from every stamp set sold goes towards the Ronald McDonald House Program. How wonderful is that?

Let’s go to Alaska!

Posted on

Where does the time go? I never seem to have a moment to catch my breath. Which is sort of good as you won’t catch me complaining that I’m bored but sometimes, just sometimes, I think I’d almost like to be… maybe, lol! πŸ™‚

Then again, my Darling Boy went in for both a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy yesterday morning so I’ve been feverishly buzzing around the house all week ensuring all my chores, and THEN some, were completed so that I’d be available to him. Seems I was a tad OVER-concerned as he’s bounced back fabulously. Even has a friend over this afternoon!

This is now allowing me a head-start on our Alaskan Cruise Album. I know right, I’m creating a holiday album for a holiday we’ve had in this VERY year. Weird huh? The pages have been planned as such…

Alaskan Cruise time already!!!

I’ve even chosen the cardstock and patterns for all these pages which oddly, given the destination, are mostly in shades and patterns of green. Green not even being a color of mine. WHAT is going on?! πŸ™‚

I ask you, is a week too long to nap? Last night I had myself in a TOTAL panic as I’d lost a glass of water. How could ANYONE lose a glass of water without even moving? Just as tears were beginning to surface I looked down, and yes, sadly the glass had been in my hand the entire time. Excuse me, bedtime!

Oh, and have yourself an... Inkee Fiddling Day!
