Flower Patch Fun

Posted on

Finally after weeks of sitting on my table, teasing me, I finally put ink to cardstock last night to make a couple of cards with the wonderful new Flower Patch Stamp Set.

Why is whenever I think I have a quick and easy card in mind it then takes me hours to complete a single one. This was my first card. Initially the Washi Tape was what tripped me on this card until I remembered something from this coming Thursday.

Flower Patch - Washi Tape - JIF

This second card is even more clean-cut but took forever as my ink-pad was just too juicy, leaving “bubble gaps” on my stamped image which I just wasn’t happy with. With the help of a little silver heat-embossing, I’m now MORE than happy with this card!

BIG NEWS is big news!

This is another of the stamp sets I couldn’t wait to get hold of when the new Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog was released, the Big News Stamp Set!

Coming up with ideas for cards was NOT difficult at all and with this first card I finally had an opportunity to use the cute new 2013-2015 In-Color Sequin Assortment. The Coastal Cabana Cardstock and Coastal Cabana Classic Ink against the white is so fresh. The Washi Tape is from the Everyday Adventure project Life Accessory Pack – gosh that’s a mouthful isn’t it, lol?!

Big News - Awesomeness - JIF

The next card is another clean card with the Silver Foil Paper as the base for the card with Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White and a little more silver! The sentiment was heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder. The Petite Petals Punch and Bitty Butterfly Punch adding the final touches when combined with Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Big News - Silver Happily Ever After - JIF

This last card was a LOT of fun! With the words BIG NEWS in the sentiment I couldn’t resist using the Typeset DSP. This DSP isn’t as thick as the regular sheets but don’t be fooled by its appearance, it’s not tissue-paper either (as my mind keeps telling me…).

The Something for Baby Stamp Set with co-ordinating Baby’s First Framelits in Hello Honey Classic Ink gives the card just what it needs. The pram was stamped first in Hello Honey Classic Ink then heat embossed with Clear Embossing Power to give it some luster. The sentiment I also heat embossed but in Early Espresso Embossing Powder.

Mirrored Love – Just Sayin’!

Sometimes all we need is a nudge to get going and when it comes to card making what better place to get that nudge than the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog!

That’s what I did for the Just Sayin’ Stamp Set. So often I look at this stamp set and all I see are word bubbles on cartoons so I turned to page 109 for inspiration and a little CASE’n.

My first card was a lot of fun to make as I used a LOT of different elements on it. From the Word Bubble Framelits, the Hearts Collection Framelits, and the Deco Labels Collection Framelits. Then there was the What’s Up Punch and the Heart Punch from the Itty Bitty Accents (IBA) Punch Pack.

As I used the Silver Foil Heart Vellum as the background, where in the catalog gold Washi Tape had been used, I used a stamp from the Tape It Stamp Set in Smoky Slate Classic Ink. A combination of Silver Foil Paper and Brushed Silver Cardstock created the “mirror”.

It was so much easier having a basis for the card I couldn’t help myself but CASE another card from that same page. I really like my interpretation of this card!

This and That… Fishing!

Okay, okay… this is the second last page I’ll be showing, PROMISE!

When it comes to scrapbooking I have to admit I often laugh to myself as I go through scrapbook magazines reading how some scrappers have problems scrapping loads of photos. That has never been a concern of mine as you’ve probably noted!

Nanny's 2013 Album (30)

As I mentioned before, this is the second last page which can only mean I’m going to be back online “LIVE” again VERY soon. Hopefully as you are reading this we are already in Vancouver and will be home soon!

This and That… LEGO!

The This and That Designer Stickers with the days of the week were just what was needed when doing a page about Lego. Lego would be created every day of the year if it was financially possible!

Nanny's 2013 Album (26)

As I’ve said before, these pages for this Journal as super basic but honestly, I don’t really think much more is needed as this isn’t a keepsake for a lifetime, simply a moment captured in time for mother!
