Lovin’ the Smooch Spritz!!!

Posted on

It’s not that I want to do but I really think I have to admit defeat on my Mojo Monday’s actually happening on a Monday! Yes, I know, for my own peace of mind I always back-date my blog so it shows Monday’s date but more often my Mojo happens on a Wednesday. I know I should accept this but for whatever reason, I’m not yet ready to accept it just yet. I’ll give it just one more week!

In the meantime however this is this weeks Mojo Monday sketch…

Mojo 319 SketchAnd here is my interpretation. Very quick, yet quite effective don’t you think? I’ve used a Whisper White card base and onto that have adhered Crumb Cake Cardstock but not before I gave it a good spritz with the Smooch. Ooooo, how I’m lovin’ the Smooch! I even spritzed the doily after I’d lightly sponged the edges with Crumb Cake Ink. And I’m not sure if you can see it, but I’ve also stamped stars onto the doily with the Illumination Glimmer Watermark Ink.

I punched a circle from one of Season of Style Designer Journaling Tags then ran the thick end of a Cherry Cobbler Marker around its edges before adding some Dazzling Diamonds. A ribbon of paper was cut from the Season of Style DSP Stack and before I added the ribbon of Season of Style Washi Tape which I mounted onto Whisper White cardstock to ensure its colors would pop!

Tag It quickly on a Friday!

Posted on

Yesterday was spent down in the Studio. It was lovely to be down there once again but even with an early start, it took almost six hours before I found my groove once again. Then again, it didn’t help that previously I’d been working on our Christmas cards which were here, there and everywhere on my desk. Initially I chose not to move them for “expediency” sake. What a mistake!

Alas, today wasn’t much better as I left the Studio in a complete upheaval last night but unlike yesterday, today I have begun the slow process of returning everything to where it once belong. Or in some instances I’ve even had to begin creating new homes so I can find them next time. I can see many large wooden stamp cases being on my next order so I can begin keeping everything together!

As a matter of fact, I’m still plodding along with the clean-up but in the process was able to create a quick card as I wanted to feel as if I’d accomplished something at least. What do you think of this for something quick and easy?

Tag It Celebrate - JIF

The Tag It Stamp Set is fabulous for more than one reason. Besides the fact most of the tags co-ordinate with the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies and that these tags cover so many occasion, there’s also the fact that $3 from this stamp set is donated to Ronald McDonald house. Love it!

Today I had fun with the CELEBRATE tag, coloring most everything in a different color with Stampin’ Markers. The Washi Tape added even more color and then for a smidge of bling I mist the Whisper White cardstock with Smooch Spritz and also covered a line of Sticky Strip with the Orange Glitter from the Holiday Catalog. I wanted to prove to myself I could use this for something other than Halloween!

CARD RECIPE
Cardstock: Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Whisper White
Stamp Set: Tag It
Stampin’ Markers: Eggplant Elegance, Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse,
Gumball Green, Cajun Craze, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie
Big Shot: Chalk Talk Framelits, Big Shot
Embellishments: Orange Glitter, Gingham Garden Designer Washi Tape,
Season of Style Designer Washi Tape, Smooch Spritz
Essentials: Stampin’ Trimmer, Stampin’ Dimensionals,
Paper Snips, Sticky Strip

Ho Ho Ho – ‘Tis the Season!

Posted on

Yes I know… shock, horror, I’ve actually created something!

What can I say? Mojo Monday, with its weekly card sketch is a fabulous way to get the creativity back in your fingers when your mind is over-crowded with what you should be doing (sadly I refer to house-work), not with what you want to do! This is this week’s sketch.

Mojo 318 SketchThis is my interpretation of the sketch. Not that dissimilar from the sketch for a change actually.

Mojo318 - Ho Ho HoThe strip of DSP from the Season of Style Pack was sitting on my desk so it immediately became part of the card. Then for the sake of expediency I chose three tags from the Season of Style Designer Journaling Tags. Two of these I punched the circles from before coating the edges with silver glitter and one of the beautiful Frosted Finishes Embellishments. With Versamark I stamped the snow flake from the Warmth & Wonder Stamp Set over the Baked Brown Sugar background.

Mojo318 - Let it Snow Embellishment - JIFThe remaining tag I added to a white tag I hand-cut from Whisper White cardstock. More glitter was added to the lights on the tags for  a little ompf and a large bow made from the Cherry Cobbler 1″ Stitched Edge Grosgrain Ribbon. All the edges were sponged with Crumb Cake.

With only 50 sleeps until Christmas one should really be up to their armpits in Christmas cards but life has a funny way of getting in the way sometimes doesn’t it? If per chance you are like me, a tad behind, if there’s anything you may need to get started, please call me today (250-632-4248) to place your order!

Thanks So Much SoHo Subway!

Posted on

Oh no, I’ve used it again, I can’t believe it! I’ve used a design from the Soho Subway DSP yet again but it was just what I required as a background layer don’t you think?! I just love this card as it’s very clean compared to my usual style of creating yet it still looks busy enough for me if that makes sense.

Thank so much Soho Subway

The Papaya Collage Stamp Set is just so versatile. The butterfly does require some fussy-cutting but with a pearl in the center is very effective. The frame I stamped onto the Whisper White in stamped-off Early Espresso Classic Ink then in Gumball Green stamped the fern inside the frame.

Simple Papaya Collage Butterfly

The sentiment I chose from the Oh, Hello Stamp Set using Raspberry Ripple which I also used to sponge the sides before using Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere to the card.

Layer upon Layer upon Layer

Classic Ink: Early Espresso, Raspberry Ripple, Gumball Green
DSP: Soho Subway

Essentials: Stampin’ Dimensionals, Paper Trimmer,

Old World Gifts of Kindness

Posted on

It hasn’t been my intention to continually use the Soho Subway DSP but it certainly has become that way though hasn’t it? On this card I have chosen yet another design of this range to punch out hexagons.

Old World Gifts of Kindness

At the top of the card I used some sticky strip to create a ruffle appearance with the beautiful Very Vanilla 1/2″ Seam Binding Ribbon (more has been ordered so if you forgot or missed out with the first allotment, email me today…), adding some Large Pearl Basic Jewels for some extra ompf!

Very Vanilla Seam Ribbon with Pearls

Then onto the sponged and arranged hexagons I’ve layered (surprise!) the Very Vanilla cardstock onto Early Espresso which I’ve then trimmed with Crisp Cantaloupe 3/8″ Ruffle Stretch Trim. This ribbon ties into the layers on the base card which is Natural Ivory then is layered with Early Espresso, Crisp Cantaloupe with the Very Vanilla cardstock on top!

Crisp Cantaloupe Ribbon

The stamp of the teapot and flowers came from the Tea Party stamp set and was stamped in Baked Brown Sugar Classic Ink. The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso from the Gifts of Kindness stamp set (yes, another of my current favorites for sentiments…)!
