Sale-a-bration Scraps!

Posted on

It never ceases to amaze me what can be created from a pile of scraps. Even the scalloped edge on the card below was a scrap, a result of cutting out the pattern on the reverse side of this DSP!

Scrapy Sale-a-Bration - JIF

The right-hand side of the Summer Starfruit Die Cut was stamped-off with a stamp for the Petal Parade Stamp Set. The sentiment is from the Regarding Dahlias Stamp Set. The cork flowers from the Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack finished off the card nicely!

10 days and counting left for these and any of the wonderful 2014 Sale-a-Bration treats – call me SOON with your order so you don’t miss out!

Go on… Push the Envelope… DARE YOU!

Posted on

Last week I was like a woman possessed with my Envelope Punch Board – not making envelopes of course – that was way too obvious. Instead, I was seeing just what else I could do with this item besides collecting dust on my shelves, lol!

This is just a few of things created. My sincere apologizes for the poor photography – I’m fighting off the beginnings of the flu I fear so am not firing on all cylinders you might say – hence settings aren’t as wonderful as I’d like!

Push the Envelope CreationsThe 3″x3″ Card Envelope is so quick and easy but why the 1-1/4″ punched hole you ask? For the wine of course! How often have you taken a bottle or two of wine with you to someone’s house but  to wrap or bag the wine would be overkill? Well, this I think is the perfect solution!

3x3 Card and Envelope for Wine Bottle
Then by simply adding an inch to all the measurements you have the cutest, and once again the easiest, little box to house four 3″x 3″ Gift Cards!

3x3 Card Box with Four Gift Cards

Then whilst working on a 4-1/2″x 6-1/2″ box for some regular-sized cards I stuck the sides down with sticky strip without aligning both sides of the box first. Possibly no one would have noticed but I knew I would so by simply cutting the top off the box, adding some lovely Sweet Sorbet DSP and matching ribbon it was all good. Looking at it now I think a handle would complete it nicely!

Last minute birthday!

Posted on

Yes, there’s nothing quite like a last-minute birthday party announcement. I fear Master Eleven was in-fact advised of this event earlier in the week but decided to only advise me only the day prior, at which point he wasn’t interested so the said information was immediately released from my advice-vault. What can I say, if it doesn’t involve me I say… “catch and release“!

Anyways, that was the “day before” wasn’t it? The day of the event at 3pm it was decided he’d go for the intended start time of 6pm but only stay until 10pm at which time I would be required to collect him. Fine… one last-minute card and gift coming up… grrrr, children, grrrr 🙂 This is what eventuated and fortunately, I promised myself at the time that next month, next week, I would leave this particular DSP alone and I now I have!

Anyways… for a last-minute card I think I did okay don’t you?!

Shapes and Numbers

I tell you, I’m lovin’ this new hexagon punch, so much so I’ve now gone through the new Annual Catalog and found every matching stamp-set and ordered them… yikes! As this hexagon stamp felt a tad girlie I used another stamp and punch to cover some of the sentiment for a more masculine feel.

Shapes and Numbers - Sentiment

And for the “you” I made a letter “U” from the XL and L Oval stamps, added Stampin’ Dimensionals and adhered over the top of some of the fabulous Washi Tape which just happened to have a HEXAGON pattern on it, yea baby!

Shapes and Numbers - U

Not quite on time!

Posted on

We had business in Terrace on Saturday which we didn’t think was going to take so long but even with having breakfast there we still ended up racing into the house 40 minutes late for the sleepover Boy Child was invited to that night. An entire day in the blink of an eye!

Hence there was no time to make a card for the birthday boy so had to find something in my already made stash. Well, in theory that should have been a piece of cake you would have thought but noooooo…note to self, MAKE MORE MASCULINE CARDS!

I certainly had the coloring for males on some cards but the sentiment in retrospect wasn’t quite right. Out of all the cards I had there was only one that would be appropriate. This was it made with the fabulous Clorkworks stamp set!

Inkee Fiddlings - Clockworks - 2012-13 Incolors

Admittedly I do rather like this card but fear I cannot take the credit for its design as I CASEd it (Copy And Share Everything) but from where I cannot remember 🙁

Created in last year’s In-Colors, it really does pop don’t you think?

CARD RECIPE
Cardstock: Whisper White, Raspberry Ripple, Midnight Muse
Stamp Set: Clockworks
Inks: Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse, Gumball Green, Jet Black Staz-On
Essentials: Stampin’ Trimmer, Clear Mount Blocks, Sticky Strip,
Stampin’ Scrub, Stampin’ Mist, Staz-On Cleaner

Just Thinking!

Posted on

This is the name of one of my  “go-to” stamps at the moment – I just love it. It’s a single stamp currently available in the Stampin’ Up! Spring Catalog (which concludes next Friday… just saying) that also happens to co-ordinate with the Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies which were thankfully carried over from the Holiday Catalog for those of us who “forgot” to buy them then, phew!

Anyways, back to Just thinking, what can I say, I simply love it for its versatility.

Just Thinking Stamp

Without even thinking, my cards tend to become “girlie” so I set the challenge for myself today to make this card “masculine“!

Inkee Fiddlings - Just Thinking - Summer Starfruit

The base of the card is the beautiful Summer Starfruit Card-stock matched with Early Espresso and the retiring Night Quite Navy. I’ve cut free-hand around the circle and also removed the word FRIEND from the sentiment to keep in with the masculine theme. I gently rolled the cut edge of the circle around on the ink pad then sponged it to help “even out” my cutting.

Inkee Fiddlings - Not quite Navy - Thinking of You

Although I’m not a girlie-girl myself, I do have a habit of putting ribbon on my cards and as this challenge was for a masculine card what I’ve done is gathered up strips of DSP to create a ribbon like effect. To help create the folds as I’ve inherited my father’s fingers (short and stubby) I utilized the new Paper-Piercing Tool from the current IB&C (p.181). The paper ribbon wasn’t enough I felt so added a strip of Summer Starfruit which I had paper snipped the entire length. (Not sure where the color went, with or without bright lights it remained washed out, bizarre…)

Inkee Fiddlings - Just Thinking - Summer Starfruit - Paper Ribbons

As you can see from the bottom right-hand corner above, I also spritzed the card with Early Espresso to give the base more depth.

Card Recipe
Stamp: Just Thinking
Card-stock: Summer Starfruit, Early Espresso, Not Quite Navy
Classic Ink: Night Quite Navy
DSP: Print Poetry
Embellishments: Pearl Basic Jewels
Tools: Window Frames Collection Framelits Dies, Color Spritzing Tool,
Scallop Edge Border Punch, 3/16″ Corner Punch
Essentials: Early Espresso Marker, Paper Snips, Stampin’ Trimmer,
Sticky Strip, Paper-Piercing Tool

Next time I’ll show you my girlie card with this stamp. Now, for the sake of repeating myself, DON’T FORGET FRIDAY 31 MAY, is the last day for ordering from the Spring Catalog.

So if you haven’t already added this stamp or the DSP to your collection and would like to, CALL ME NOW (250-632-7248), and remember for all orders over $50 before 1 June, you’ll receive the new 2013-2014 Idea Book and Catalog.

Oh, and have yourself an... Inkee Fiddling Day!
