Not ALL Banners are banners!

Posted on

One of the choices with Sale-a-Bration 2014 is this wonderful Heartfelt Banner Designer Kit. When choosing this, I had full intentions of creating the banner but somewhere between opening the kit and sitting down to create the kit, I lost all the canvas banners, lol!

After a good look around I managed to find ONE piece of canvas. I have NO idea what’s become of them which is so frustrating but regardless, instead of creating a banner I made a card with banners from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set and Language of Love Stamp Set. The Sweet Sorbet DSP is also from the 2014 Sale-a-Bration.

Springtime Hello

Posted on

From the Spring Catalog one of my favorite “go-to” sets would have to be the Springtime Hello Stamp Set. Seriously, it’s a tiny set but packs quite the delicate punch.

Even with Crumb Cake on the background of Whisper White Cardstock, this set is impressive. Although scanning my cards instead photographing them has done them no favors today, my apologies.

From something quite demur to something quite bold with the Bermuda Bay Cardstock, the Springtime Hello Stamp Set really works.

The Springtime Hello stamp set works beautifully also with the Sale-a-Bration Sweet Sorbet DSP and Sweet Sorbet Accessory Pack as you can see.

The Open Sea on Sweet Sorbet!

Posted on

As I’ve mentioned MANY times before, having being born beautiful instead of rich (yes, I can laugh at myself – although these days it’s more jiggling than giggling) I tend to save EVERYTHING. Eventually it all becomes useful.

My size determiner is the usability of the products. Ribbon for example have to be long enough to either fit across a two-inch wide tag which thus in-turn makes it’s large enough to be used on the end of sentiment, tag or such.

Open Sea - Ribbon Scraps - JIF

For cardstock and DSP, my smallest punch is the determiner. Thus if I can put a scrap into a punch – I save it. Note the small punched circle on the tag above, seriously who wants to lose a sheet of fresh cardstock to that small-fry?!

As exemplified on the card below, the scrap doesn’t even have to fit the punch completely. Don’t you just love the Sahara Sand Cardstock which compliments this sheet of DSP from Sweet Sorbet perfectly?

Scrap-tastic Sale-a-BrationThis DSP is just one of the many delights which can be yours FREE during Sale-a-Bration 2014 when you spend $60 or more. EVERY $60 you spend you receive something FREE! Looking at the items for this week is like looking at my own stash. Those ribbons, as you’ve probably already noticed, are regularly used on my creations. Particularly the Summer Starfruit Satin as it goes brilliantly with the Sale-a-Bration’s Sweet Sorbet DSP perfectly!

Go on… Push the Envelope… DARE YOU!

Posted on

Last week I was like a woman possessed with my Envelope Punch Board – not making envelopes of course – that was way too obvious. Instead, I was seeing just what else I could do with this item besides collecting dust on my shelves, lol!

This is just a few of things created. My sincere apologizes for the poor photography – I’m fighting off the beginnings of the flu I fear so am not firing on all cylinders you might say – hence settings aren’t as wonderful as I’d like!

Push the Envelope CreationsThe 3″x3″ Card Envelope is so quick and easy but why the 1-1/4″ punched hole you ask? For the wine of course! How often have you taken a bottle or two of wine with you to someone’s house but  to wrap or bag the wine would be overkill? Well, this I think is the perfect solution!

3x3 Card and Envelope for Wine Bottle
Then by simply adding an inch to all the measurements you have the cutest, and once again the easiest, little box to house four 3″x 3″ Gift Cards!

3x3 Card Box with Four Gift Cards

Then whilst working on a 4-1/2″x 6-1/2″ box for some regular-sized cards I stuck the sides down with sticky strip without aligning both sides of the box first. Possibly no one would have noticed but I knew I would so by simply cutting the top off the box, adding some lovely Sweet Sorbet DSP and matching ribbon it was all good. Looking at it now I think a handle would complete it nicely!
